This is set-up to be a very intriguing game with both sides playing good football in the WSL this season.

Everton, who were fighting off relegation last season, have turned things around impressively under manager Brian Sorensen after his arrival in the summer.

They are level on points with West Ham (who have played a game extra) and the London club themselves are making big strides.

After a solid season with Olli Harder last year, they are improving again under manager Paul Konchesky.

This feels like a bit of a six-pointer as both sides look to claim the "best of the rest" spot outside the recognised top four.

soapyhnnh: I think big steps have been made in regards to international women's football, but at club level women's football is still not treated with the respect it deserves.

JamieGriff97: The fact officials thought they could even attempt to play is mind boggling.

No doubt this match will be replayed on a school night so hopefully they put the match on free-to-air TV for the young fans who can't get back down. Who's gonna pay for the away supporters' travel for the replay, I wonder? FA need to cough up there, imo.

The consideration for undersoil heating is a must. They will have another slot to play this game. It makes it difficult when Chelsea play in the Champions League.

If games are getting called off due to the weather, it will be an ongoing problem for the future.

James Knell: Completely agree with Matt Beard. Proves women's game isn’t getting the respect it deserves.

KinGK2323: Great by Emma to address the fans and I’m 100% with the Liverpool manager.= Why wasn’t this called off at 09:30?? The women’s game is evolving but not enough. Underground heating and VAR needs to be invested in. Let's keep pushing forward and not let off the gas.

Liverpool manager Matt Beard speaking to BBC Two: "They said about the players slipping on several occasions. Both players from both sides have slipped. Like I said before, the game should have never gone ahead.

On the pitch being frozen: "They were going to give it a chance, so that was the explanation. It wasn't safe down there [the dugout side]. There were patches in the centre and other areas. I guess where they had the heat [it thawed], but for the majority of the pitch that wasn't the case. Chelsea have done everything they can to try to get the game on. I'm surprised it kicked off at 12.30pm because we got told this morning that we can try and kick off the game at 2pm, but we got the phone call to say that the game was back on at 12.30pm. I was a bit surprised.

"At the end of the day, the temperature was not going to change all day. It's only going to get colder now."

Pitch inspections should have a cut off time so if the pitch isn't playable by a certain time they should postpone it, its very unfair for travelling fans. They need to check temperatures and forecasts for the day in that area as part of their assessment. It's unacceptable

    Anon, via WhatsApp

Makes the WSL look a bit amateurish, shame really. Sounds like it should have been postponed at 0930.

LPESSN: Growing the game but sometimes we really don't do ourselves any favours. The pitch was frozen at 09:30 this morning, the pitch was frozen during the warmup but a decision is taken six minutes into the game!

Sian: Nobody wants the players at risk but it sounds like the pitch inspection wasn't done particularly well earlier. Not surprised it's called off but when fans have travelled and players are warmed up, it just makes it frustrating when the match gets started and then postponed.

mr tim: LFC fans travelled from 5am to watch the match. Glad the LFC women team applauded them. Terrible decision to pass the pitch inspection.
