Bruges had the ball in the net just before the break, ex-Fulham man Denis Odoi with a deflected header from a free-kick - however he was narrowly offside.

Goalless at the break, which Scott Parker won't be too disappointed by. Benfica had the majority of chances in the opening 45 minutes.

Decent chance for Dortmund. Julian Brandt leaves Ben Chilwell on the ground with some trickery and cuts it back for Marius Wolf, who blams a shot wide from long range.

Joao Felix whips in a corner for Chelsea but the referee spots something he doesn't like and gives Dortmund a free out.

Ben Chilwell crosses and Kai Havertz's attempted flick rolls to nowhere.

The only thing that is lacking for both teams really is that moment of composure. You would expect Joao Felix to bring it, that is two great chances now he's had to open the scoring and he's failed to take either of them.

The best chance of the game by a billion miles. Kai Havertz picks out Joao Felix in space in the box. The Chelsea forward, central and 10 yards out, clips the ball over Gregor Kobel but it comes back off the crossbar.

It's 9-2 on shots... but no saves from either keeper. Not many you'd have expected to go in.

Dortmund work a corner back to Karim Adeyemi, but his shot from the edge of the box sails over the bar.

He has attempted three shots in this game, more than any other player.

Joao Felix really should have put his side a goal up. It is fantastic play as he works it out to Hakim Ziyech, who returns to Felix. It was sat up perfectly and he really has to do better there.

Big chance for Joao Felix. He runs through the centre and plays the ball out to Hakim Ziyech.

Felix makes the run into the box and Ziyech cuts the ball back to him but Felix leans back and blazes over from 14 yards.

Dortmund fans boo as Reece James and Ben Chilwell take a good while over a free-kick. It's half-cleared to Mykhailo Mudryk, who plays a clever ball in the box but the offside flag goes up against Kalidou Koulibaly.

Best chance of the game for Benfica but Rafa Silva hits the outside of the post after getting on the end of Chiquinho's free-kick.

Julian Brandt bursts forward and plays the ball out to Sebastien Haller. He takes a touch and rifles the ball into the side-netting.

This is Haller's ninth Champions League appearance. He scored 11 in the previous eight.

Good block to Thiago Silva to stop Karim Adeyemi's shot in the box. Adeyemi was a bit unlucky seconds earlier as the ball hit the back of his foot as he was about to speed away.

Corner to Dortmund as Mykhailo Mudryk blocks a cross. Chelsea head the corner away.

It does feel slightly odd that Hakim Ziyech is still playing regularly in Chelsea's starting XI when they tried to sell him to PSG two weeks ago.

Jude Bellingham has a shot deflected wide and the Dortmund captain gets the crowd to make some noise.

Dortmund will have chances, it was a real opportunity. Wolf was in behind way too easily for Chelsea's liking, they do get back and he just slices it off the pitch.
