GOAL - Eintracht Frankfurt 0-2 Napolipublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Giovanni Di Lorenzo (65 mins)

    Beautiful goal!

Exactly what the hosts did not want as Napoli add a second, although they can't deny the beauty of the creation and finish of this strike.

The ball is played into the box for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who backheels into Giovanni Di Lorenzo's path and he passes the ball into the far corner.

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-1 Napoli

Boos are ringing out around the ground here with home fans clearly aggrieved at the decision to send off Randal Kolo Muani.

Frankfurt will be desperate to get back level but they definitely can't afford to allow Napoli to score again. As it is, they are still in this.

That was the right decision, Dani Carvajal's arms were down by his side. They had a stronger shout with the last one.

That's that then. Only got ourselves to blame, had absolutely no idea what to do when we were 2-0 up and Madrid were looking very ropey.

    Dan

They're going to do it again, aren't they? Play with completely reckless abandon and yet win the whole thing through sheer power of will...

This is turning into a disaster for Liverpool tonight.

Benzema and Rodrygo play a nice one-two on the edge of the box and it is a bit of a pot shot from Benzema in the end. The ball comes off of Gomez's heel who just dangles a leg and there is nothing Alisson can do.

There is a little VAR check for a Rodrygo offside but he is on so the goal stands.

    Karim Benzema (55 mins)

    Another one.

Karim Benzema plays a one-two with Rodrygo on the edge of the area and hits a shot which takes a huge deflection off Joe Gomez.

Alisson has already dived so the ball goes over his legs.

  12. RED CARD FOR FRANKFURTpublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-1 Napoli

It goes from bad to worse for Eintracht Frankfurt as their main striker, Randal Kolo Muani, is sent off.

It is for a bad foul on Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa as he stood on his shin.

Dani Carvajal seemed to shove Darwin Nunez while he was jumping. Play has restarted so VAR must not be intervening here. Hmmmm.

    Darwin Nunez wants a penalty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold volleys in a cross and Nunez, going for a header, goes to ground. He claims Dani Carvajal fouled him.

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-1 Napoli

Napoli grew into this game as it went on and are dominating now - not sure how they are not 2-0 up to be honest.

Kevin Trapp had to be at his best to deny a Hirving Lozano's strike before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia raced through one-on-one, but he showed too much to Trapp and the Frankfurt keeper saved.

This is what Real Madrid do. They make you think you can beat them, that they look disorganised, or have mistakes in them, but they step on the gas whenever they want. It's always on their terms. They're just too good!

    Daniel

Real Madrid are constantly finding new ways to hurt my soul.

    Charlie

    Pathetic marking from Liverpool then.

  20. 'Statues would have had more movement'published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2023

    Liverpool 2-3 Real Madrid

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I said it would be dangerous, I didn't think Eder Militao would get a free header like he did. All of the Liverpool players are static and it is a free header.

A good ball from Modric who whips it into the box but it is far too simple a goal from a Liverpool perspective. Statues would have had more movement than the Liverpool defenders.
