    Southampton 2-0 Man City

It's not hyperbole to say this is one of City's worst performances under Pep Guardiola.

    Clinton Morrison

This has been a proper cup tie. Wolves were the better team in the second half. Forest really struggled. Now it is about confidence and who wants to take a penalty.

    Nottm Forest 1-1 Wolves

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the City Ground

Wolves tempers are fraying as referee Graham Scott books Julen Lopetegui, who, along with most of his players, is furious Matheus Nunes didn't get a penalty.

Nunes lost his boot in a collision and Ruben Neves cites that as evidence of a foul.

Wolves were equally unhappy at the decisions that went against them at Liverpool on Saturday.

    Southampton 2-0 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is brilliant play from Manchester City, a flick from Phil Foden plays in Ilkay Gundogan.

He rolls it across the box with his left foot and Julian Alvarez stretching, is just not able to get enough on it.

    Southampton 2-0 Man City

Gavin Bazunu finally has a save to make. Julian Alvarez slides in to meet Ilaky Gundogan's ball across the six-yard box. It hits a defender too maybe before Bazunu smothers it on the line.

    Southampton 2-0 Man City

Che Adams has the ball in the back of the net but it's disallowed. The Southampton sub is offside as he pops the ball in from close range following James Ward-Prowse's deflected shot.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2023

    Nottingham Forest 1-1 Wolves

Oh is Matheus Nunes fouled inside the box? The referee says no but there may have been contact because his shoe has come off after a clash with Emmanuel Dennis.

Ruben Neves runs over to pick the boot up and show it to the referee. Frustrations are boiling over now, Wolves players are not happy with that.

Huge cheers as Gavin Bazunu races out of his box to clear the ball. He hasn't had to make a save yet but he's been very good.

I'm a saints season ticket holder, bought a ticket for tonight and stayed at home. The mixture of emotions I'm currently feeling really sum up being a saints fan.

    Sam

I’m surprised haaland didn’t start this match to be honest. he not long ago had a month off and would probably want start. Alvarez was at the World Cup though. Poor from pep trying be too clever.
