Really well worked goal. Another wonderful strike from Son.

Lovely ball in and a flick around the corner from Perisic.

Keeper has no chance again. What a finish.

Spurs are surely in round five now. Ivan Perisic flicks the ball to Son Heung-min, who has his back to goal. The South Korean spins past Jordan Storey and hammers the ball into the back of the net.

Too many reserve player flops for Spurs, Bissouma has turned out to be another failed signing.

  6. 'We were not our normal selves'published at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

FT: Bristol City 3-0 West Brom

Baggies boss Carlos Corberan told BBC WM 95.6: "We made more technical mistakes today than in other games and we suffered a lot of counter-attacks. I didn't see the mentality of my team out on the pitch today.

"It's a disappointing feeling to have lost tonight and to not keep going in the competition, which was of course the target that we had. We lost the ball more today in the middle of the pitch than normal and that gives the advantage to the opponent to attack you.

"We didn't manage the game well tactically but also when it came to the last pass, the last cross, the last part of the attack, we did not do it with the normal accuracy."

Preston are really making a game of this now. Good to see. It's always a major shame to just go out with a whimper.

Evans did really well. Holds Spurs off.

The pass to Whiteman, he can't get enough bend on it.

    Great response though.

Benjamin Whiteman has a good Preston chance. He's picked out 20 yards out, cuts the ball onto his left foot and tries to curl it into the far corner. He doesn't get enough curl onto it though.

  12. 'Poorly played'published at 19:19 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Preston 0-1 Spurs

    Alan Shearer

It was poorly played from Spurs but Cannon was expecting a touch and he dives.

The ref got that one right.

Tottenham Hotspur have had 71.1% possession over the opening 15 minutes of the second half.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 61 mins

    Preston 0-1 Spurs

Preston's Thomas Cannon tries to win a penalty - but gets booked for diving instead.

He tries to cut back in the box and I think he's expecting Japhet Tanganga to lunge in so throws himself to the ground. Sadly for him the defender didn't make any such move so it was a clear dive.

Robbie Brady's corner is poor and headed away by Japhet Tanganga at the near post.
