Marcus Rashford continued his fine form with two late goals to take his tally for the season to 15, and put Manchester United into the Carabao Cup semi-finals at the expense of League One Charlton at Old Trafford.

Antony's superb first-half opener gave United the lead after 21 minutes but Dean Holden's visitors claimed plenty of credit for the way they continued to battle - until second-half substitute Rashford found the net for a sixth successive game with goals in the 90th and 94th minutes.

It means eight consecutive wins for United and their third last-four appearance in this competition in six seasons since they won it under Jose Mourinho in 2017.

They lost the last two to rivals Manchester City - their next opponents in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday (12:30 GMT).

Erik ten Hag wasn't giving much away on Wout Weghorst last night, answering with a simple 'No, unfortunately, I can't', when asked last night if there was any update on Manchester United's move for the Dutchman.

However, it is understood a loan move for the striker is edging closer, albeit slowly.

Besiktas want a replacement for Weghorst in order to complete the deal.

United's win against Charlton last night means they have two League Cup semi-finals to fit into their busy January schedule.
