Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Rico Lewis runs onto a ball down the right and drags it into the side-netting. Not a cross. Not a shot.

It could be an option for City for Haaland to chase the ball with a long ball from Ortega. Then the space might open up for shorter passes.
As a keeper, you have to try and mix the game up. Don't be predictable unless it is working for you.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Kevin de Bruyne plays a through ball into Erling Haaland. He barges one defender to the ground but is then tackled by another. It took two of them but they got the job done.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Takehiro Tomiyasu does well to head a long Stefan Ortega clearance back to his keeper before Erling Haaland can latch on.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Immediate City attack but Jack Grealish can't get onto a long ball.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
The second half kicks off.

A double change actually. Albert Sambi Lokonga replaces Thomas Partey in a more surprising switch.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Mikel Arteta does the sensible thing. William Saliba replaces the booked Rob Holding at the break.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
The FA Cup still has replays. So if it ends like this, it goes to a replay - not extra time or penalties.
Neither team wants that.

It has been fantastic.
Arsenal started out like a house on fire. They forced some big saves from City.
Nketiah is on the front foot straight way. Great game.
Daniel Cheng: Not too bad first half. Holding on yellow card means he has to defend smarter vs Haaland. Trossard has looked likely. Saka has hardly troubled the left back though.
JChesterUnited: Strange game, bits of quality from the players who care (Trossard, Haaland, Grealish, Turner, Ortega). But otherwise, the game is being played at quite a relaxed pace.
Not a fan of this 3-6-1 formation. They can't get the ball out to their threatening players because too much time is spent played between the back three and centre midfielders. They have no width in the full back areas and Mahrez has hardly touched the ball in this game.

It has been a great game. Arteta will be happier of the two managers.
Arsenal have snuffed out everything that City have tried to do. They're not giving them any chances to do anything.
It's been really good from a tactical point of view. Hopefully City can do more in the second half.

It is a good game, I think Arsenal have been the better team. Not in possession but they look a real threat. I think whoever scores first goes on to win this game.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira had just nine touches in the first half. Six passes, four completed.
Man City 0-0 Arsenal
A nerdy observation I'm sure but Aymeric Laporte took so long to come on that City may as well have waited until half-time to bring him on.
You only get three windows to make subs - but half-time subs don't count as a window.
So, presuming Pep Guardiola doesn't make a change at the break, his next four subs have to be made in two windows.
I did warn you it was a nerdy observation.

On John Stones' injury
It is a weird one looking from here.
The mechanism was probably to try and twist or slow himself down. And that is your hamstring - that is what he grabbed as he went down.

We have played well here but holding and vieira are nowhere near good enough for our first team. Holding has just been booked and frankly he’s lucky he wasn’t already on a yellow. He’s a liability waiting to let us down.

City seem to be playing every match like it's a friendly. Arsenal like it's a cup final. We all know City have the far superior side and would win the match and also the league if they switched gears but arsenal are showing how much of a difference having the right mentality can have.
