Play is back under way and Erling Haaland is OK.

  2. 'Arsenal have been expectational'published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

This has been sensational, the pace, the tactical battles all over, fantastic.

Arsenal have been exceptional. They are frustrating City. They are trying to compact the pitch and block the channels to players like Grealish and Mahrez.

It is about getting up the pitch quickly but Arsenal are doing really well to stop that. It is what we are used to seeing from City but we aren't seeing it tonight.

  3. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Rob Holding leaves Erling Haaland on the turf and the City striker needs some treatment.

Both managers use this as a chance for a cheeky team talk.

  4. Arsenal in confident moodpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City, inevitably, threaten going forward but it is their keeper Stefan Ortega who has had to produce two fine saves. Arsenal are such a confident team and judging by the noise from their fans they feel exactly the same.

  5. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Rico Lewis takes a throw-in to Rodri, who slices the ball out of play. Lewis looks like 'what the hell was that'.

  6. 'Fantastic effort from De Bruyne'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

    Fantastic effort from De Bruyne.

Just thought it was going in but missed. So close.

  7. 'Trossard is ready made for the Premier League'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

Really good signing for Arsenal with Trossard.

Not the youngest but he is ready made for the Premier League.

You know what you are getting. They paid decent money for him. He's been around a while. Great business for Arsenal.

  8. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Oh my that would have been a dreamy goal.

Kevin de Bruyne gets the ball from Rico Lewis, shuffles back onto his left foot and curls the ball just wide of the far post from 22 yards.

Moments earlier Riyad Mahrez had a shot blocked.

  9. 'Arsenal looking more threatening'published at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal haven't had much of the ball but they look more threatening. You have got to credit Mikel Arteta for the way they have set up, they aren't letting Manchester City play their football at the moment.

  10. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

You can tell there's a great game just simmering under the surface here.

The Paul Dickov derby hasn't quite exploded to life yet.

  11. 'Good save from Ortega'published at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

We have seen Trossard get the ball with his left foot and then hit a thunderous shot so many times in a Brighton shirt and he's now doing it in an Arsenal shirt.

    Good save from Ortega.

  12. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal keeper Matt Turner just gets the ball away before Erling Haaland closes him down.

He looks very relaxed, I'll say that for Turner.

Arsenal are doing to city usually what city does against everyone…Arsenal pressing non-stop and not allowing them to settle.

    Guga

If this opening 22 minutes is anything go on then Trossard is going to prove to be an absolute bargain at what we paid.

Best chance of the game and it's to Arsenal's full debutant Leandro Trossard.

The ex-Brighton Belgian has more joy down the left, cuts into the box and blasts in a shot which Stefan Ortega parries away.

  15. 'City need to get Grealish into the game'published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

It is quite difficult for City at the moment.

Nketiah is going forward then there's a row of three behind him.

Ortega is finding it hard so having to play it over the time to a more experienced player like Grealish, De Bruyne or Haaland.

They need to get Grealish into the game. He has proved that if you get him in the game, he will score, assist or just be a threat.

The game has no real rhythm at the moment.

  16. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be worried every time Rob Holding and Erling Haaland did battle from a long ball. It's happened three or four times already.

  17. 'Arsenal want to make City defenders defend'published at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

Arsenal free-kick there, 40, 50 yards away from the box. No real thought of them playing short.

They want to make the City defenders defend which is working well for them so far - so let's see how that continues.

  18. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

City have had more of the ball so far but Arsenal have played more passes in the oppositon half.

  19. 'Game starting to settle down a little now'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2023

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

    Nicky Weaver
Former Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio Manchester

Great run from Gundogan. It opened up for him and looked like he was going get a shot in, which probably would have been the better option.

The game is starting to settle down a little now.

  20. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Man City 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal put a free-kick into the box but Bukayo Saka's first-time shot from 16 yards is straight at a defender.

The Gunners edging it so far.
