Porto 0-0 Inter Milan (0-1 agg)

It's been a lively start by Porto and the home fans are in great voice after that ambitious early attempt by Matheus Uribe. But play has been stopped to allow Evanilson to get treatment. The Brazil forward looks in trouble.

It didn't take Pep Guardiola long to start delivering one of his complicated arm signals.

John Stones, right-back when City don't have the ball and deep lying midfielder when they do, seemed to understand.

He was 50 yards away from his manager so I don't think he heard him.

Perhaps they do videos of Pep's arm movements, like the old tic-tac men at the racecourse.

  4. 'Leipzig pressing high'published at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

We're seeing Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg pressing really high.

Ruben Dias played a risky ball and Leipzig are straight on top of them.

  5. Postpublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

Kevin de Bruyne's corner finds Ruben Dias but his header hits a Leipzig defender.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Porto 0-0 Inter Milan (0-1 agg)

Porto need a fast start and they go close to scoring inside three minutes as Matheus Uribe goes for goal from about 25-yards. Andre Onana gets his finger-tips to it and it's a corner for the hosts.

  7. Postpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

Bernardo Silva wins a corner now. An early goal would really give City a lift.

  8. Postpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

Big chance for City within two and a half minutes. Bernardo Silva finds Kevin de Bruyne on the right and he whips in a lovely cross which Ilkay Gundogan volleys over from eight yards.

  10. Postpublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

No away goals rule any more, so it would go to extra time if this ends as a draw with any scoreline.

  11. 'City will come out flying'published at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City 0-0 Leipzig (1-1 agg)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think City will come out flying, they will want to start incredibly quick and they will want to show Leipzig that this is their patch.

Leipzig need to show a lot of concentration in the early stages.

Man City v RB Leipzig (20:00GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

As always, the Manchester City fans booed the Champions League anthem.

I doubt they will ever stop that. The antipathy towards Uefa runs deep.

  14. 'City ache for this trophy'published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City v Leipzig (20:00 GMT, 1-1 first leg)

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City ache for this trophy.

There's a narrative of 'is Pep Guardiola a waste of space if he doesn't win the Champions League?', obviously not.

He's had such a huge impact in a relatively short space of time.

Man City v Leipzig (20:00 GMT, 1-1 first leg)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's down to City now and what pace they want to play at.

They'll want to look after the ball, use it well and get into the final third.

They have a big hurdle in front of them but I do believe they've got enough.

  19. Leipzig boss 'loves' Haalandpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2023

Man City v RB Leipzig (20:00GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose was rather taken aback yesterday when it was mentioned to him that there was a school of thought that Manchester City are not as good with Erling Haaland in their team as they have been in the previous two seasons.

Rose coached Haaland at Borussia Dortmund last season.

    He does not agree.

"He has scored 28 goals in 26 games," he said. "If you take those goals away, where would City be in the league?

"He is one of the top number nines in the world. They are much more difficult to play against because you don’t know how they will play. They are more complete now.

"It could get really good with Pep and Man City.

"If you don’t want him send him to me. I love him."
