But now Barcelona have a free kick in a good position as Gavi is fouled.

Replays of the Marcus Rashford incident show he was knocked off the ball just outside the box. They should have had a free kick and they won't be happy if Barcelona score here.

Erik ten Hag is booked for his reaction to the lack of a free kick there.

Marcus Rashford is giving Barcelona's defence nightmares! He is just everywhere right now and he races after a fine long ball by Bruno Fernandes. He gets towards the box and is knocked off the ball. Was it just inside the area? Manchester United want a penalty but get nothing. Erik ten Hag is fuming with the fourth official.

Anon: All the years following Utd in Europe, pre match against top teams has always been about being wary of the oppositions star player. Of course they would score against us. Now WE have that player. Come on Utd!!!!

Michael: As it stands, Barca should be glad they're only losing by 1 goal. The chances United have created are putting the 1st place La Liga team to the sword.

    Barcelona 1-2 Man Utd

Manchester United did not come here to try and escape with a draw. They wanted the win and they have their reward at the moment for a really positive display,

They are not done yet, either. They want more as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is on space on the right side of the box and his shot is deflected behind.

Braga 0-1 Fiorentina. Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 Rennes

It's all going wrong for Braga in their home Europa Conference League game against Fiorentina.

Luka Jovic put the Italians ahead just before the break and Braga have just had Vitor Tormena shown a straight red card for standing on the calf of Jovic with a mistimed challenge.

In the Europa League, Rennes have pulled a goal back against Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to Karl Toko Ekambi's volley at the back post, although the Ukrainians still lead 2-1.

What a turnaround from Manchester United and no one knows who scored but it is all about Marcus Rashford. He said "give me the ball and let me take on Raphinha", then it just needs a touch and it takes a couple on it's way in.

    Jules Kounde OG

    The visitors turn it around!

Incredible stuff from Barcelona and Marcus Rashford is heavily involved again!

A corner is played short to the forward and he races into the box before fizzing the ball across the face of goal and it is deflected in at the far post off Jules Kounde.

There is a check by VAR but the goal stands!

What a game this is! End-to-end now as Jadon Sancho is denied putting Manchester United ahead before David de Gea does superbly to pluck Raphinha's curled effort out of the air.

    Andrew: Raaaaaassshhhhhffffoooorrrrrrdddd!!

Form of his life, form of his career.

Peter: Rashford is like death and taxes. Inevitable to hit the back of the net.

He was the most likely for Manchester United, it looks like an impossible angle and we have to look at Ter Stegen. He is standing up and backing himself but he had to have gambled away from the post because he just has to stand there and let it hit him.

    What a response!

Fred makes amends for not picking up Marcos Alonso for the opener with a superb ball over the top and Marcus Rashford races into the box and powers in a clinical strike at the near post.

That's Rashford's 14th goal in his last 16 matches and his 22nd of the season. What form he is in!

Of all the ways you'd thought you would concede against Barcelona you didn't think it would be a deep cross and Marcos Alonso arriving at the far post. But they do have enough size.

It looks like the bounce surprised David de Gea as it looks ugly as you are never sure how it is going to bounce. It looks like the effort is going to hit the post but there is just enough on the ball to send it in.

    Qarabag 0-0 Gent

Qarabag from Azerbaijan have missed a great chance to take the lead in their Europa Conference League match against Belgian side Gent.

The hosts were given a penalty that was awarded following a video assistant referee check, but Ramil Sheydaev's spot kick was saved by Davy Roef.

    Marcos Alonso

    The former Chelsea man scores!

Manchester United pay the price for their missed chances as Marcos Alonso arrives late at the back post to meet a corner and he beats Fred in the air to nod in.

Alonso, whose father - a former Barcelona player - died recently - raises a finger to the air in celebration. An emotional goal for the full-back. A big one in this tie.

Great opportunity for Jadon Sancho as Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross goes all the way through the box to the forward on the far side. He has time to pick his spot but fires into the sidenetting.

That would have been spectacular. On the turn instinctively, he caught it sweet and nobody knew if it was going in. David de Gea would have been hoping.
