Marcus Rashford, who Xavi rates as one of the most dangerous players in Europe, produces a brilliant first touch to break clear of the defence and he gets into the area before hammering a shot towards the far post but the Barcelona goalkeeper gets a big hand to it.

Ooh Barcelona get away with some slack defending as Marcus Rashford is not picked up as he peels away to meet a Luke Shaw free kick into the box.

Fortunately for the hosts, Rashford's first touch isn't the best and that gives the defence enough time to sort themselves out and deal with the cross.

Really positive spell from Manchester United though.

And now Casemiro has a chance as he flicks a header from a Bruno Fernandes free kick towards goal but too close to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

England striker Tammy Abraham is in the side selected by Jose Mourinho for Roma's away Europa League play-off tie against Red Bull Salzburg.

Abraham has just had a chance to open the scoring but could only head at Salzburg goalkeeper Philipp Kohn following Stephan El Shaarawy's cross from the left. Abraham then had another chance but glanced a header wide.

Really good from Wan-Bissaka but really poor from Sancho. It is cut back perfectly for him and he miss hits it. It is almost going sideways.

A rare chance for Manchester United as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is away down the right. He plays a dangerous low ball in that Jadon Sancho misses but Frenkie De Jong is panicking for a moment as it deflects off his boot and just wide.

Luke Shaw plays Robert Lewandowski onside and the striker turns towards goal and is about to shoot before Raphael Varane does really well to get back and prod the ball away from his feet.

Manchester United need to do something about their right side as Barcelona are just finding far too much space down there.

The hosts win a corner but David de Gea is off his line confidently to punch clear. Raphinha is onto the loose ball but his volley is blocked by the crowd of players inside the box.

An unexpected corner for Manchester United as Jules Kounde's ball back to Marc-Andre ter Stegen goes behind. Luke Shaw is up to take the set piece but Barcelona deal with it.

Aditya: What's with all the empty spaces dead in the midfield? And if that wasn't enough, there's more room than in a suite on United's right defensive side.

Good movement off the ball from Barcelona and Manchester United looked a bit ragged defensively there and it opened up the space for an opportunity.

Gavi and Pedri link up again before the ball is played out to Jordi Alba, but his cross is too close to David de Gea.

Lovely little flick by Gavi to Pedri, his header is into the chest of Luke Shaw but Pedri then gets a second bite of the cherry but volleys over.

Robert Lewandowski runs into trouble in the centre circle and Manchester United have the chance to break forward but Lewandowski does well to recover and put the ball out for a throw rather than risk Aaron Wan-Bissaka having the chance to race away down the flank.

Most of Barcelona's play is going down their left with Jordi Alba having probably been the busiest player in the game so far. Manchester United haven't really got past halfway for the last five or so minutes.

Shakhtar Donetsk have taken the lead in their Europa League play-off against Rennes with Dmytro Kryskiv scoring the first goal in Europe tonight after goalkeeper Steve Mandanda (formerly of Crystal Palace) could only parry a shot into his path.
