Having missed out on the League Cup, Newcastle's focus between now and the end of the season is to nail down a Champions League group place - something they have not managed since 2002-03.
Juventus, Barcelona and Inter Milan were among the visitors to St James' Park that season.
Will Newcastle be mixing with European royalty in 2023-24?

Two live commentaries on 5 Live today - Chelsea-Leeds at 15:00 GMT followed by Southampton-Leicester at 17:30.
Ian Dennis and Michael Brown are at Stamford Bridge while Conor McNamara is joined by former Leicester keeper Mark Schwarzer at St Mary's.
Get up to speed with what is happening at the bottom of the table on The Football News Show. Ben Croucher is joined by former Manchester City, Tottenham, Wigan and Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown.
They talk about what it is like to be involved in a relegation battle and which teams are in the most danger of facing the drop.
The Athletics’ Jacob Tanswell joins the show to talk about Southampton. Would relegation be actually good for the club?
They also speak to a Nottingham Forest fan about their recent form, and if they think they can stay out of trouble.
Just six points separate 12th-placed Crystal Palace and Everton, who start the weekend in the relegation zone in 18th.
The Toffees, who are at Nottingham Forest on Sunday (14:00 GMT), will finish the day bottom if Southampton beat Leicester by three goals or more, and Bournemouth avoid defeat at Arsenal.
Leeds have not won away from home in the league since 29 October. They could do with sorting that out at free-falling Chelsea, who will drop to 11th if they don't win and Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace.
Wolves, in 15th and at home to Spurs, have scored just nine times in 12 Premier League games at Molineux this season.
