Plenty of frantic effort at Anfield with Liverpool pushing hard but the one save was Alisson diving to his right to thwart Manchester United's Antony.

The Kop is in full voice. The volume is always turned up a few notches for this one although United's fans are not having that as they chant: "Where's your famuos atmosphere?"

Marcus Rashford has scored 10 goals in his last 10 Premier League games, netting in each of his last five appearances, but he's had a quiet start to this one.

An awkward hooked ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold is headed away from the goalline but only as far as Harvey Elliott but Luke Shaw does enough to put off the Liverpool midfielder and his shot bounces harmlessly wide.

Casemiro gives the ball away on the edge of the Manchester United area and Fabinho quickly finds Mohamed Salah on the right side of the box. Salah takes a touch and curls an effort goalwards but it is well over.

That's the job Wout has been given, to drop into the ten role to serve Rashford and it is moving Liverpool about.

Right idea from Fred as he tries to slip the ball through the Liverpool midfield and defence to send Marcus Rashford away but the Reds' backline cuts out the danger.

Something wrong with Casemiro? Some of his passing hasn't been of his usual very high standard and he has been grimacing a bit.

Manchester United have had plenty of defending to do but they have the first real chance of the game as the ball is worked to Antony, who cuts inside on the edge of the area and bends a shot towards the far corner but Alisson pushed it behind.

Some nice short, sharp passing again from Liverpool down the right. Darwin Nunez attempts to feed Jordan Henderson on the edge of the area but Fred reads the pass really well to intercept.

Really good tussle between Fred and Mohamed Salah with the latter trying to get control of the ball inside the box but Fred does really well to hold his ground and usher the ball out of play for a goal kick.

Fred slaps the hands of a team-mate in celebration, both teams right up for this.

Liverpool work the ball nicely down the right to Mohamed Salah, who cuts it back to Harvey Elliot inside the area but his powerful strike is blocked.

Decent start by the hosts.

Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to MOTD: "We've spoken about the mentality away from home since I've been at the club. But that was nearly the perfect away performance. There were just too many mistakes at both ends.

"I will say....I don't know how you get penalties these days. I never used to get them at my old club and I'm trying to get one here.

"It's a good away performance and I think we've done enough to win the game. We're asking more questions. I feel the performances are getting better and stronger. We've got to keep going."
