However, the Whites are winless in their past seven away from home (D2 L5).

Having been unbeaten in six league games against Leeds between 2017 and 2021 (W5 D1), Wolves have lost their past two against the Whites.

I think Forest are in free fall, losing last night was huge for them. The bottom three I called at the start of the season was Forest, Southampton and Bournemouth and I'm not going to move from that.

Although I am looking at Leeds and wondering where are they going to find a win from? They've got to start scoring goals and they've got to certainly do that now.

  7. Billing to get things going again?published at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

After winning their first ever Premier League meeting with Bournemouth in August 2015, Aston Villa have lost each of their past four against the Cherries.

Following their 1-0 win against Liverpool last time out, they are looking to win consecutive Premier League games for the first time since August 2022 - and for the first time in a single season since February 2020.

On both of those occasions, the second win in the run came against Aston Villa.

Philip Billing is Bournemouth's top Premier League goalscorer this season, netting twice as many goals in 25 appearances this term (six) as he had in 77 games across his three previous campaigns combined (three). Five of his six goals this season have been Bournemouth's first of the match, giving the Cherries the lead in their past two fixtures against Arsenal and Liverpool.

    Southampton v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on Final Socre

I believe Spurs are going to finish fourth. I think they will start to put performances together, I know they seem inconsistent but they've won three games of the last five recently and lost two which you might say is not top four performances.

But I still believe enough in them that now they are out of the Champions League, they've got a clear path, a little bit like Arsenal, who are of course going for the title.

I think they'll hold off the challenge from Newcastle, difficult games coming up, this is a double jeopardy game for both teams so I think it could be a cracking game here today. Southampton are playing with a lot more experience in this team now, Walcott is one of those coming in. They need to start winning their home games, who's to say they can't win today. If Spurs pick up some consistency now, they will make the top four.

  10. Conte not going anywhere just yet...published at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Southampton v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

Antonio Conte said this week that he does not expect Tottenham to sack him before the end of the season.

Following his side's Champions League exit last week, the 53-year-old said they may want to sack him sooner than that - but he clarified on Thursday the comment was "a joke".

"This was a provocation you understand? About my future," Conte said.

"A provocation, a joke. When you tell something, to joke.

"You [reporters] asked me about the future and I said that you don't know what happens, because maybe the club can sack me. But I repeat, I don't think the club is thinking this."

Former Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui will come up against compatriot Javi Gracia for the third time in his career - having beaten him twice when Gracia managed Valencia - and he has praised his Leeds side ahead of the match.

"They have a very good squad, players and big quality. We wait for a tough match, we have to be ready of course," Lopetegui added.

"We try to improve step by step and now we have the focus. The next match is Leeds, it's got enough importance, we don't think about anything differently. We have to be ready."

Their previous meetings came in the 2020-21 campaign, with Lopetegui's Sevilla beat Gracia's Valencia 1-0 in LaLiga and 3-0 in the Copa Del Rey.

  12. 'It is a lot of good teams fighting with the same aim'published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Wolves v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

Wolves' manager Julen Lopetegui feels all the teams in the relegation battle "are going to be ready" to fight for all available points.

Wolves sit 13th in the Premier League table, three points above Bournemouth in 18th but, the Cherries have played a game less.

As they head into the backend of the season, Lopetegui's side face five of their relegation rivals across their final 11 matches.

"My point of view is it is a lot of good teams fighting with the same aim so we have to be ready to be able to continue in the race, to have the best mentality, with the best way to play," said Lopetegui.

"Each match is going to be very important and a chance to achieve three points. It's difficult because all teams are going to be ready."

  13. 'We approach every game to win it' - O'Neilpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    NetoImage source, Getty Images

Gary O'Neil is resolving that his Bournemouth side have already secured back-to-back wins given the two games in the middle of their recent run of four fixtures were "pretty much unwinnable".

A memorable win over Liverpool at Vitality Stadium last Sunday and a victory at Wolves on Saturday, 18 February bookended games against the top two in Manchester City and Arsenal.

Indeed, they ran the league leaders desperately close at Emirates Stadium, going two goals up and only denied a point by Reiss Nelson's last-kick winner.

"We approach every game to try to win it - as do our opposition," he said. "It's difficult to win games in the Premier League.

"We have won two of our past four - or two of our past two as the ones in the middle were pretty much unwinnable.

"We are in a good spot."

Bournemouth have only won six games this season but could win consecutive matches for the first time in the league if they beat Aston Villa.

"That would be big, especially going into a little break," he said. "But it's tough going to Villa and getting a result."

The Cherries finally got revenge for that day up at Anfield, a 9-0 thrashing, with a 1-0 win over Liverpool.

The Reds were the first of the big six we picked up anything from this season. But more than the result, it signified the improvements which have been made and were visible in that narrow defeat against Arsenal and with further tweaks on Saturday we have every right to be optimistic.

Gary O'Neil is getting it right and has the club on the right path.

We are playing good attractive football but football that wins and the deep defending which we saw earlier in the season seems to have been abandoned.

Now Gary looks more comfortable than ever and a strong finish and safety will hopefully prove all the doubters wrong.

  15. 'Villa to get their revenge' - Suttonpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Bournemouth have got a fighting chance of staying up, which I didn't think was the case a few weeks ago.

They are showing some defensive resilience and January signing Dango Ouattara has made a difference to their attack - he is a ball-carrier, with plenty of pace.

The Cherries were unfortunate to lose against Arsenal before they beat Liverpool and they will give Aston Villa a test too.

Villa were a bit unconvincing in their draw with West Ham last time out, but they are at home and Ollie Watkins is in good form for them up front.

Bournemouth beat Villa on the opening day of the season, which I didn't expect, but I'm going for Unai Emery's side to get their revenge here.

    Chris Ostler's prediction: 2-1

Villa to edge it, just about.

  16. 'Villa in 11th-place limbo'published at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

David Michael, My Old Man Said, external

For the past two months, Aston Villa have been stuck in 11th-place purgatory in the Premier League.

The European places remain unrealistic, while the eight-point gap in the table between them and Crystal Palace, directly beneath them, is a hearty buffer to dispel any relegation concerns.

While fortunes have vastly improved under Unai Emery, Villa seem to be in limbo despite there still being a third of the season to play.

The aim now simply has to be a top-half finish. It’s not going to be easy, though.

When Villa’s run-in is analysed, based on their opponents' points per game average of 1.45, only Forest (1.57) and Newcastle (1.50) have a harder climax to their seasons.

Ollie Watkins is one goal shy of becoming the first Villa player to reach double figures in three consecutive top-flight seasons since Christian Benteke from 2012-13 to 2014-15.

Watkins has scored in six of his last seven league appearances.

Unai Emery has had a transformative impact at Villa Park.

Villa have taken 23 points from their 13 league matches under Emery, in contrast to 12 points from their opening 13 fixtures this season.

They are the only team to have scored in all of their Premier League games since he took charge.

Victory today could see them move into the top half of the division.

If you like unpredictability, you’ll love what’s on offer at St Mary’s today.

Which Southampton will we see? They’ve certainly been better away from home this season than here.

As for Tottenham - as we know - it really could be anything.

  20. 'Worried about Southampton' - Suttonpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2023

    Southampton v Tottenham (15:00 GMT)

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Sutton's prediction: 0-2

I had my 'worryometer' out on the Monday Night Club and I am really worried about Southampton, and not just because they don't score many goals.

I also said on the Monday Night Club that Antonio Conte needs to sort out his future and let Spurs know if he won't be there next season,

We have all seen how patchy his side have become this season, especially since the World Cup, where they go on little runs of wins or defeats.

Harry Kane always enjoys playing Southampton and I would not be surprised to see him get on the scoresheet again.

    Chris Ostler's prediction: 0-3

I could never go against my team no matter how badly we were doing, but we come into this off the back of a good win over Forest. We need goals. and we need momentum.
