    Kevin Nisbet

Jim Goodwin probably thought it couldn't get any worse. Well, it just has!

Kevin Nisbet, who was left on the Hibs bench after his collapsed transfer to Millwall, is sent clear by two-goal Josh Campbell and the Scotland striker slots his sixth goal in four games with virtually his first touch as a substitute.

He had the freedom of the Aberdeen half and kept a cool head to finish.

    St Mirren 1-0 Motherwell

Trevor Carson denies his former club an equaliser, and takes a whack in the process.

Ollie Crankshaw crosses to Max Johnston who meets it well. Carson saves and holds the rebound, despite the onrushing Kevin van Veen.

    St Johnstone are still battling.

This has been like a cup tie with a lower division side being outclassed. That's how bad Aberdeen have been.

    Rangers 2-0 St Johnstone

Todd Cantwell trots off to a warm applause at Ibrox. It's been a solid debut for the midfielder, who was involved in the build up to the second goal.

Fashion Sakala comes on and immediately heads a free kick just over the bar.

  8. Kamara off the markpublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Rangers 2-0 St Johnstone

That was Glen Kamara's first goal of the season.

The Finland international knocked in four in the last campaign.

    Hibernian 3-0 Aberdeen

A rare spark of life from Aberdeen, but Liam Scales' header from a corner is over the crossbar as time ticks away for the prospects of a comeback.

  11. Postpublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Hibernian 3-0 Aberdeen

Joe Lewis denies Elie Youan, the Aberdeen goalkeeper deflecting the striker's low drive over the crossbar.

However, it appears that the offside flag was up before the shot.

No signs of an Aberdeen fightback as manager Jim Goodwin looks a haunted man on the touchline.

  12. goal

GOAL Rangers 2-0 St Johnstonepublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Glen Kamara

That should be three points for Rangers against the 10 men of St Johnstone.

Todd Cantwell fizzes the ball into Alfredo Morelos' feet and the Colombian's lovely flick tees up Kamara to stroke beyond Remi Matthews.

  13. goal

GOAL Ross County 3-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    Yan Dhanda

Zach Hemming looks crestfallen as he allows Yan Dhanda's dipping drive from 25 yards to squeeze through his hands.

It will be interesting to see if the ball swerved as well as dipped but, whatever the case, the shot is not one a goalkeeper would expect to get past him. That is surely the points safe for County now.

  15. Double change for Motherwellpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2023

    St Mirren 1-0 Motherwell

Almost an opening for Motherwell. The ball breaks to Stuart McKinstry and he takes a touch away from the defender, but it's too big a touch and St Mirren clear.

Stevie Hammell makes two changes to try and force a change in the scoreline. Ryan Tierney and Ollie Crankshaw are on for Connor Shields and Blair Spittal.

The rain might have started to come down but it won't dampen the spirits of the home support who are in good voice after Jordan White netted the second for County.

As it stands, we have four teams on 20 points at the wrong end of the table.
