We hope you've enjoyed our EFL coverage today - we'll be back on Monday with live text commentary of Championship bottom side Wigan's trip to Blackburn. See you then.

Leyton Orient went four points clear at the top thanks to George Moncur’s winner at home to AFC Wimbledon.

Second-placed Stevenage had to settle for a stalemate at Sutton while Carlisle, in third, went down 1-0 to Harrogate thanks to Paul Huntingdon’s late own-goal.

Northampton, in fourth, drew 0-0 with Walsall and are just two points ahead of Salford who beat basement-boys Rochdale 2-1 through Matt Smith and Conor McAleny.

Down the road Stockport edged Tranmere 3-2 with Will Collar’s late goal proving decisive.

In-form Andy Cook put Bradford 1-0 up against his former club Mansfield but Alfie Kilgour snatched a late leveller while Grimsby won 3-0 at Crewe to end a run of five straight away league defeats.

Daniel Dodds notched a late winner for Hartlepool at Doncaster to stay a point ahead of second-bottom Gillingham, who beat Crawley 1-0 through Shaun Williams’ goal.

Colchester grabbed a point at home to Barrow thanks to Kwesi Appiah’s last-gasp goal.

With Plymouth going down 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich could only close the gap to the automatic promotion places by a point after Freddie Ladapo salvaged a point at Cambridge, who led 1-0 at half-time through Harvey Knibbs.

David McGoldrick's hat-trick inspired Derby to a 5-0 win at home to Morecambe while Bolton kept pace thanks to Kyle Dempsey’s late winner against Cheltenham.

Bobby Thomas salvaged a point for Barnsley at Portsmouth with a late equaliser at Fratton Park while Wycombe cruised to a 3-0 victory at Port Vale and Shrewsbury left it late to win 1-0 at Oxford.

Jesuran Rak-Sakyi and Corey Blackett-Taylor goals gave Charlton a 2-1 win at Exeter.

Ben House set Lincoln on their way to a 3-0 win at 10-man Accrington while Mo Eisa’s early penalty for MK Dons at Bristol Rovers was doubled by Max Dean’s last-gasp second.

Fleetwood led and trailed before pegging Burton back to 2-2 thanks to a last minute Promise Omochere goal, only for the Brewers to snatch a stoppage-time winner through Charlie Kirk to make it four straight losses for the 10-man hosts.

Forest Green lost 2-0 to Peterborough in the battle of the Fergusons, Darren getting the better of Duncan.

Championship top scorer Chuba Akpom scored twice to take his league tally for the season to 16 as third-placed Middlesbrough brushed aside struggling Blackpool 3-0 at The Riverside.

Both Boro and Luton - level on 48 points after the Hatters also won, edging out Stoke - will be looking at the 10-point gap to second-placed Sheffield United, held by Rotherham at lunchtime and thinking 'can we?'

Blackpool stay second-bottom after their defeat, while Huddersfield claimed an important point at home to QPR, inching the Terriers closer to a Cardiff side who continued their freefall by losing 1-0 at Hull.

Millwall and Sunderland missed out on the chance to climb into the play-off spots as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, while Watford edged up to fifth despite letting a two-goal lead slip in a 2-2 draw at Reading.

There were also important wins for Bristol City and Birmingham to move nine and eight points clear of danger respectively - the Robins handed Preston a fifth straight home loss by winning 2-1 while Blues twice came from behind to beat Swansea 4-3 with a 97th-minute winner in a thriller.

    Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Plymouth

Sheffield Wednesday are the new leaders of League One after Callum Paterson’s early goal ensured a 1-0 win over Plymouth, who slip to second.

It’s a sixth straight win for the Owls who are now unbeaten in 16 matches and top on goal difference, with a game in hand.

Argyle still have a six-point cushion in the race for automatic promotion.

    Swansea 3-4 Birmingham

A massive win for Birmingham City, thanks to two late headers from Lukas Jutkiewicz and Auston Trusty, the latter in the 97th minute, as they come from 2-1 and 3-2 behind to win 4-3 at Swansea.

    Scintillating stuff in south Wales.

Joel Piroe's double looked to have put the Swans in control but they had to play the final few minutes a man short due to injury and goodness me how Blues capitalised. They're up to 18th, eight points clear of the bottom three.

    Preston 1-2 Bristol City

    Mostly one-way-traffic in this one.

Bristol City's two first half goals are enough to dispatch Preston who lose their fifth home game in a row.

    Luton 1-0 Stoke

Probably not the prettiest three points ever but Luton won't care.

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's early goal cements their hold on a play-off spot as Stoke's mediocre season continues.

    Hull 1-0 Cardiff

Another defeat for Cardiff as they lose at Hull.

Cyrus Christie's goal edges victory for the hosts who also saved a penalty in the first half, with Matt Ingram denying Callum Robinson.

    Reading 2-2 Watford

What a comeback from Reading who were 2-0 down against a decent Watford side.

The home side could have snatched the win at the end with a series of shots on target just skipping wide or over the bar.

Watford will be bitterly disappointed to not claim all three points.

    Auston Trusty (90+6 mins)

    Wow.

That late injury to Joel Latibeaudiere that left Swansea playing the final few minutes with 10 men - having used all their subs - has been pivotal.

Auston Trusty follows Lukas Jutkiewicz's lead with a header and Birmingham have turned this around, from 3-2 down about 15 minutes ago, to lead 4-3.

Victory would have put either side in the play-off spots but the spoils have been shared in the capital.

Strange to think that David McGoldrick played almost 500 games for 10 different clubs over 16 years without once hitting a hat-trick.

But at the age of 35, he has now scored three in the last 98 days for Derby County.

    Luton 1-0 Stoke

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu began this game with a cracking strike - that looks to have won it for Luton - and he nearly finishes it the same way.

This time, though, his shot from distance is just over.

A few minutes to go at Kenilworth Road - the second half kicked off a bit later than most games due to an injury delay at the end of the first half.

    Lukas Jutkiewicz (90 mins)

To answer the question two entries ago, no, Swansea can't hang on.

It's a huuuuuuge goal for Birmingham City as Lukas Jutkiewicz looks to have rescued them a point after five consecutive defeats.

A nice goal it is too - a diving header from the Blues sub.

Tom Hamer has put Burton ahead at Fleetwood to complete the turnaround and put the Millers 2-1 to the good.

Scott Brown's Fleetwood staring down the barrel of a fourth straight defeat as it stands and are also down to 10-men.

Garath McCleary has added a third for Wycombe who are running riot at Port Vale.

Barnsley might have snatched a point at Portsmouth with a late goal from Bobby Thomas.

  20. Swans down to 10published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2023

    Swansea 3-2 Birmingham

Swansea will have to play the final few minutes of their game with Birmingham a player light because they have used up all of their substitutions and Joel Latibeaudiere has had to go off injured.

Can the 10 men hang on?
