Leicester sign Souttar from Stoke for £15m

    Leicester City

    Souttar

Leicester have signed Stoke and Australia defender Harry Souttar.for a fee of £15m plus £5m in add-ons.

There was plenty of interest in the 24-year-old, but it was always likely he would move to the King Power Stadium.

Born in Aberdeen, Souttar began his career at Celtic before moving to Dundee United and then joining Stoke in 2016.

In 2019 he opted to play international football for Australia, where his mother was born.

Souttar has won 13 caps and was part of the side that reached the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

  2. Ziyech's move to PSG could be offpublished at 23:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    BBC Sport

Hakim Ziyech’s proposed loan from Chelsea to PSG is in danger of collapse because the documentation to complete the transfer was not submitted in time.

A loan was agreed ahead of the French deadline and it was felt automatic it would be completed.

However, even though the Morocco star is in Paris expecting to be confirmed as a PSG player, the registration has not been completed.

It remains to be seen if there is any solution but as it currently stands, Ziyech would have to return to Chelsea for the rest of the season.

On Pedro Porro's move from Sporting Lisbon to Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be delighted down that right hand side. They've tried several times to get that correct so it's a positive. It's somebody in that dressing room that is hopefully going to give them that consistency especially when the manager demands so much of the squad.

  15. 'Pep sets high standards at Man City'published at 22:57 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on the Football News Show

On Joao Cancelo's move from Man City to Bayern Munich

I think Pep Guardiola will have made that clear that Joao Cancelo probably wasn't going to play, certainly in the next month and maybe he had to fight his way back into the team and that decision was made by the player.

Pep has been quite vocal about the fact that he has not been happy about some of the performances of his senior squad players, he's all but named them.

Regardless who you are and what you've done, if your standards lower from what the manager expects, you're not going to get in the team.

Do you fight for that or do you go and take your reputation somewhere else?
