If you're wondering why Spurs released Matt Doherty so he could join Atletico Madrid instead of loaning him to the Spanish club as planned, there is a very good reason.

Newish Fifa rules only allow clubs to send out eight players on loan in a season.

And Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Bryan Gil, Joe Rodon, Sergio Reguilon, Giovani lo Celso, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence have already left Spurs on a temporary basis.

A team in the Championship relegation zone signing the Czech number one keeper sounds random. But it's happened.

The Enzo Fernandez signing looks like it ticks all of the boxes, a quality player, really young, a lot of his career ahead of him, really good experience, desire he has shown already as he's won the World Cup. He comes in with that confidence as well and they'll hope he hits the ground running.

The Jorginho signing caught my eye, not simply because I wasn't expecting him to move away from Chelsea but more because of the way Arsenal have done their business. They are continuing to impress me.

They way they go about it, identifying people they need given the injuries they have sustained in their squad, knowing exactly what they want and going out an doing it.
