  2. Asghar explains Watt departurepublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Dundee Utd 0-0 Kilmarnock

Dundee United sporting director Tony Asghar joined BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound pre-match and addressed Tony Watt's January loan move to St Mirren.

"Firstly, I think any player that signs for the club, especially of a level of Tony Watt, wants to play regularly," said Asghar.

"I think [Dundee United head coach] Liam Fox was quite clear that any player in his team has to understand that the needs of the club are bigger than the needs of one player.

"Tony wasn't happy with that, the different system we’re playing. Steven Fletcher came in and took the number nine jersey and Tony wasn't going to get the playing time he wanted, so Tony wanted to go and play football regularly and myself, the board, the head coach decided the best thing for him to do was to go and do that.

“We were trying to get another striker in but myself and the head coach are quite happy with what we've got. Fans might look at it and say we’re short.

"We’ve not scored enough goals but to sign another player that isn’t of the quality we need, we don't believe is right. The January window is a slim market place."

Ayo Obileye must be wondering what he has to do to score in this one. He's been such a threat in the box at set plays and has come close THREE times in the opening half.

As for the visitors, they'll take heart from their first-half display as they've threatened at times, much to the annoyance of the home fans, but they've not finished off their chances well at all and that will surely be a frustration for their boss Billy Dodds.

    HT: Raith Rovers 2-0 Motherwell

If things stay the same, Motherwell manager Steven Hammell will have a 25% win record as Fir Park boss. That's the poorest since Jim Gannon in 2009.

Add in the Steelmen haven't won at home since August or at all in the league since October, this is a colossal 45 minutes for the Lanarkshire side.

Misplaced passes and a lack of composure all round has been the story of a very disappointing first half. Kilmarnock did start to grow into the game, and finished the half the stronger - but in truth both managers will be hoping for much better after the break.

  10. HALF-TIME Raith Rovers 2-0 Motherwellpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

It's all going horribly wrong for Stevie Hammell's crew.

Jamie Gullan slotted down the middle from the penalty spot after Callum Slattery was penalised for a handball.

Sam Stanton then nicked the ball from the slippery palms of Liam Kelly to double the Championship side's advantage not long before the break.

  11. HALF-TIME Livingston 0-0 Inverness CTpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

A tetchy first-half in West Lothian with nothing to separate the two sides.

Livingston have had slightly the better of it, looking particularly threatening at set pieces. The closest they've come was a Steven Bradley free-kick, which Mark Ridgers had to tip around the post.

Bruce Anderson was replaced after 13 minutes, in a significant blow for Livingston. The energetic striker has six goals this season and David Martindale will hope it's not a bad injury.

  12. HALF-TIME Dundee Utd 0-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

Well, that was a really disappointing first half. There have been fleeting moments of skill, most notably down the right wings from United's Mathew Cudjoe and Killie's Danny Armstrong.

But far, far too many errors...and only one attempt even close to being on target. The second half has to be better.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2023

    Dundee Utd 0-0 Kilmarnock

At last, 39 minutes into the match at Tannadice, we have a shot (probably) on target. Rory McKenzie cuts in from the left touchline and makes for goal before unleashing a low drive from 25 yards that has United goalkeeper Mark Birighitti darting to his right to save, although the ball may have been going wide.

Kilmarnock seem to have drawn some confidence from that and the big striker Kyle Vassell goes on a mazy run through four United players and drills a shot a few feet wide of the post.

Livingston go close! A free-kick is chipped in, Ayo Obileye heads on and it takes a deflection before being cleared off the line.

It comes back to the centre-half but he drills it wide from close range.

Inverness respond with a Daniel Mackay effort, but he too drags his shot past the post.
