  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 44 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

Ian McShane whips in a corner kick from the right and Chris McGowan cracks a header at goal but somehow PJ Morrison palms the ball over the bar. From the next corner a header comes to Jordan Kirkpatrick with his back to goal but he spins and hits it over the bar.

  3. Next goal crucialpublished at 41 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

Four minutes until half-time. Darvel dare not let in a third goal before their team talk by manager Michael Kennedy.

  4. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 39 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

Liam Henderson hauls himself back to his feet and limps back into the action following a heavy challenge by Darvel striker Craig Moore. He clattered right into the back of him.

  5. A chance at either endpublished at 37 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

To their credit, Darvel are still passing the ball through midfield. They may decide to go long later in the game if they don't get a goal before then. In any case, we've had two chances. Callumn Morrison uses his pace to get clear of the Darvel defence but his fizzing shot is easily saved by Chris Truesdale. At the other end Jordan Kirkpatrick's snapshot flies wide of the PJ Morrison's Falkirk goal.

  6. Reilly volleys widepublished at 34 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

It's a weak effort by Darvel's Thomas Reilly. The midfielder picks up a clearing header that comes his way outside the box but his volley is rather lame and drifts wide.

  7. Falkirk exploited space to get second goalpublished at 33 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Final Score

Falkirk have dealt with this brilliantly, and it's the speed in which they've attacked it. They've caught Darvel pushing bodies [up] and they've exploited the spaces down the side to get that second goal so that they're not just coming here to take their 1-0 and try and knock the ball about and make Darvel tired.

They want to get goals and get this tie over as quickly as they can.

  8. Kennedy hesitatespublished at 31 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

Callumn Morrison crosses from the right for Kai Kennedy, who takes a little bit too long to get his shot away from the left of the box. When he does, it's diverted for a corner kick.

  9. Falkirk in chargepublished at 28 mins

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

Falkirk manager John McGlynn and his men have been in good form. They'll have done well to cut out the hype around this match, but they are showing tremendous focus and clinical finishing to put themselves into a commanding position at Recreation Park.

  10. 'A man with confidence'published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Darvel 0-2 Falkirk

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Final Score

Again it's that quick pass, perfectly waited - he's been on all night Morrison, they just haven't been able to find him, you think he's going to take a touch but that's a man with confidence just to slide that under Chris Truesdale

  11. goal

GOAL Darvel 0-2 Falkirkpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Callumn Morrison

Goodness me. What a blistering few minutes by Falkirk. It's a gorgeous ball inside the centre-half for Callumn Morrison and, just like Gary Oliver, he makes no mistake as he shoots past the goalie.

  13. Change for Darvelpublished at 21 mins

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

Andrew Stirling comes on for Craig Truesdale - the midfielder looks disconsolate at having to come off injured.

  14. Romance of the cup alive in Darvel...published at 20 mins

  15. Nesbitt pushes forwardpublished at 18 mins

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

Aidan Nesbitt makes a burst into the Darvel half and passes down the left wing but Darvel are so well organised they close down the space and win the ball back. Nesbitt is then involved in a Falkirk attack down the right but when the ball comes in to the box it's knocked wide of the target. Those Falkirk chances from the corner kick have been the closest thing to a goal so far.

  16. Truesdale on the ballpublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

Craig Truesdale looks like he will be pivotal to Darvel's forays up the pitch. He drifts from the left wing to the right, playing in between the midfield and lone striker Craig Moore.

  17. Hatisfaction guaranteed...published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

Call me a cynic, but do we think there may have been a deal on Darvel beanie hats over the last three weeks?

  18. 'Living up to its billing'published at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Final Score

That was brilliant. The first opportunity comes down the left-back area for Darvel, they couldn't easily clear it... but they managed to keep it alive, both sides looking dangerous now and we're only five minutes in, it's living up to the billing.

  19. Falkirk pressing, Darvel staying calmpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

The match is following a similar pattern to Darvel's match against Aberdeen, where the visitors began sprightly but Darvel kept their cool and passed their way out of trouble.

  20. Bairns go closepublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2023

    Darvel 0-0 Falkirk

It's a classic stramash in the box! Falkirk have three attempts at goal from a corner kick from the right wing. Donaldson rises to head towards goal but Darvel only half clear it. Two more shots are blocked before the danger is cleared.
