What a reaction save that was, massive save.

Ian McShane whips in a corner kick from the right and Chris McGowan cracks a header at goal but somehow PJ Morrison palms the ball over the bar. From the next corner a header comes to Jordan Kirkpatrick with his back to goal but he spins and hits it over the bar.

Four minutes until half-time. Darvel dare not let in a third goal before their team talk by manager Michael Kennedy.

Liam Henderson hauls himself back to his feet and limps back into the action following a heavy challenge by Darvel striker Craig Moore. He clattered right into the back of him.

To their credit, Darvel are still passing the ball through midfield. They may decide to go long later in the game if they don't get a goal before then. In any case, we've had two chances. Callumn Morrison uses his pace to get clear of the Darvel defence but his fizzing shot is easily saved by Chris Truesdale. At the other end Jordan Kirkpatrick's snapshot flies wide of the PJ Morrison's Falkirk goal.

It's a weak effort by Darvel's Thomas Reilly. The midfielder picks up a clearing header that comes his way outside the box but his volley is rather lame and drifts wide.

Falkirk have dealt with this brilliantly, and it's the speed in which they've attacked it. They've caught Darvel pushing bodies [up] and they've exploited the spaces down the side to get that second goal so that they're not just coming here to take their 1-0 and try and knock the ball about and make Darvel tired.

They want to get goals and get this tie over as quickly as they can.

Callumn Morrison crosses from the right for Kai Kennedy, who takes a little bit too long to get his shot away from the left of the box. When he does, it's diverted for a corner kick.

Falkirk manager John McGlynn and his men have been in good form. They'll have done well to cut out the hype around this match, but they are showing tremendous focus and clinical finishing to put themselves into a commanding position at Recreation Park.

Again it's that quick pass, perfectly waited - he's been on all night Morrison, they just haven't been able to find him, you think he's going to take a touch but that's a man with confidence just to slide that under Chris Truesdale

Andrew Stirling comes on for Craig Truesdale - the midfielder looks disconsolate at having to come off injured.

The temporary TV gantry, the floodlights, the perfect pitch - ah, the Scottish Cup.

Aidan Nesbitt makes a burst into the Darvel half and passes down the left wing but Darvel are so well organised they close down the space and win the ball back. Nesbitt is then involved in a Falkirk attack down the right but when the ball comes in to the box it's knocked wide of the target. Those Falkirk chances from the corner kick have been the closest thing to a goal so far.

Craig Truesdale looks like he will be pivotal to Darvel's forays up the pitch. He drifts from the left wing to the right, playing in between the midfield and lone striker Craig Moore.

Call me a cynic, but do we think there may have been a deal on Darvel beanie hats over the last three weeks?

That was brilliant. The first opportunity comes down the left-back area for Darvel, they couldn't easily clear it... but they managed to keep it alive, both sides looking dangerous now and we're only five minutes in, it's living up to the billing.

The match is following a similar pattern to Darvel's match against Aberdeen, where the visitors began sprightly but Darvel kept their cool and passed their way out of trouble.

It's a classic stramash in the box! Falkirk have three attempts at goal from a corner kick from the right wing. Donaldson rises to head towards goal but Darvel only half clear it. Two more shots are blocked before the danger is cleared.
