    Brentford 1-2 Newcastle

You have to admire this Newcastle side's resilience. They were poor in the first half. They could have trailed Brentford by two or three goals.

But they dusted themselves off in the break and have come out, worked hard and taken control of this game.

I would say in the last 15 minutes Leicester have come into the game. They've pushed Bournemouth back and had a lot more of the ball but they're not creating anything.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Leicester 0-1 Bournemouth

Dominic Solanke finds himself in down the right side of the area but Wout Faes times his tackle perfectly to stop the shot.

Lloyd Kelly then finds himself in the book for time wasting as he ponders where to look with a throw-in.

Fulham just haven't been able to hit the target so far.

    Tottenham 1-1 Brighton

Hmm. Brighton have been unfortunate today. Two goals disallowed for handball and, having seen the replays, they are very unlucky not to have a penalty there. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg did step on Kaoru Mitoma's standing foot.

    Tottenham 1-1 Brighton

Adam Webster is on for Brighton and his first task is to attack a corner.

It's sent in towards him but Spurs deal with it.

Kaoru Mitoma went down amongst it all, claiming a touch from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and it goes to VAR, but nothing is given.

    Leicester 0-1 Bournemouth

It's deep from James Maddison and Bournemouth are able to clear as the ball is headed back across the six-yard box.

It falls for Victor Kristiansen but he smashes it miles over the bar.

    Dreadful.

Tete does really well to draw a challenge from Marcus Tavernier and win Leicester a free-kick high up on the right wing.

Can James Maddison put in a good delivery?

Time running out for Chelsea and Frank Lampard in his first game back in charge.

Wolves make a few changes and Mario Lemina, who has been excellent, soaks up a standing ovation on his walk around the pitch.

Barnes straight down the tunnel. Maddison will play this left-hand side and Tete on the right with two up front. They are asking questions really.

    Breaking

Southampton v Man City (17:30 BST)

    Southampton XI

Southampton boss Ruben Selles has named four changes following his side's 1-0 loss to relegation rivals West Ham last weekend.

In come Armel Bella-Kotchap, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Carlos Alcaraz and club record signing Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Duje Caleta-Car, Romain Perraud, Stuart Armstrong and Sekou Mara all drop to the bench.

Southampton XI: Bazunu, Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Bella-Kotchap, Maitland-Niles, Alcaraz, Ward-Prowse, Lavia, Elyounoussi, Walcott, Sulemana.

Subs: McCarthy, Caleta-Car, Onuachu, Perraud, Armstrong, Mara, Djenepo, Edozie, Diallo.

    Man City XI

Pep Guardiola makes just one change to his starting 11 as Manchester City go in search of their eighth straight win in all competitions to maintain pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal.

And it's a big one, as top scorer Erling Haaland returns to the starting line-up after missing the 4-1 win over Liverpool with a groin injury.

That sees Julian Alvarez, who scored in that previous victory, start on the bench.

Man City XI: Ederson, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Stones, Rodri, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish, Haaland.

Subs: Ortega, Walker, Phillips, Laporte, Alvarez, Silva, Gomez, Palmer, Lewis.

  15. Postpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Leicester 0-1 Bournemouth

James Maddison is determined to make up for his part in Bournemouth's goal.

He picks up the ball in space but can only drive over the bar from about 22 yards out.

He's got to work the keeper from there, really.

    Tottenham 1-1 Brighton

Ivan Perisic comes sliding in on Pascal Gross and Brighton are not happy with the challenge. He gets away with a yellow card despite protests from Alexis MacAllister.

    Aston Villa 1-0 Nottingham Forest

Forest are still plugging away here. They are certainly still in it.

Villa remain the more likely to score, though. Emiliano Buendia has just gone close.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Leicester 0-1 Bournemouth

    A blow for Leicester.

Harvey Barnes, who has probably been their most threatening player, is forced off with an injury.

Tete, who joined on loan in January, comes on.

Ed: Nice to see some passion from Spurs finally. Shame it's on the touchline rather than the pitch.

Nicholas: I and others demand change at Spurs. We aren't calling for anything special just players that have bottle along with a board that's focused on decent football rather than balancing finances.
