De Bruyne is just floating around where he likes. The goal unlikely to be his last telling contribution with that freedom.

N'Golo Kante shoots well over from long range for Chelsea. Now Raheem Sterling does something similar.

    Pascal Gross OG (45+3 mins)

Exactly what Forest needed before the break!

Renan Lodi is claiming it, whether it is his I'm not sure. Surely an own goal by Pascal Gross.

He doesn't care, neither does the majority of the City Ground.

Lodi crosses low from the left and a huge deflection off Brighton defender Gross sees the ball wrongfoot Jason Steele.

You can see Arsenal are exhausted from their recent draws, and will be deflated after that early goal. It's going to be a long 90 minutes for the away side...

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

Manuel Akanji's decent run into the box is halted by Thomas Partey, who gets his body between man and ball and draws a foul. Good defensive work from the midfielder.

The Gunners need to find a way to reverse the momentum, though. It's one-way traffic.

    Chelsea 0-0 Brentford

N'Golo Kante pulls the ball back for Enzo Fernandez, whose shot from the corner of the box is tipped over by David Raya. At least Chelsea are creating something now.

    Nottingham Forest 0-1 Brighton

While the Brighton goal was not well-received, of course, it hasn't knocked the stuffing out of the Forest players - or fans.

Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has a sighter but his shot lacks power, before team-mate Danilo slashes an angle effort high and wide.

Impassioned roars of encouragement follow every Forest pass, tackle and move.

    Three minutes of stoppage time...

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

The Gunners are being made to look very ordinary at the moment. City's high press forces Aaron Ramsdale to play short to a boxed-in Gabriel, who then slaps the ball straight out of play. Rattled.

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

After that initial blitz, Arsenal are finally getting a bit of a feel for the ball. They still look a bit dazed, though.

Jack Grealish is absolutely flying down the left hand side.

Haaland and De Bruyne are no more than 10 yards away from each other all the time and they just play as a pair. It is brilliant to watch.

    Man City 1-0 Arsenal

Pep Guardiola is furious. He is flapping and throwing his limbs around like one of those inflatable blokes at a car showroom.

The reason? Because Bernardo Silva is penalised for the slightest touch on Granit Xhaka in midfield.

    Nottingham Forest 0-1 Brighton

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the City Ground

In the position they are in, Nottingham Forest can do without gifting the opposition goals but that is exactly what one of their most experienced players did then.

Solly March's shot wasn't that powerful.

Kaylor Navas' error meant Facundo Buonanotte could not miss.

Forest are yet to win a Premier League game in which they have conceded a goal this season.

Kevin de Bruyne doing Kevin de Bruyne things. That’s a splendid goal. Haaland, what a touch. This guy is incredible! Great start City!

    Sean from Noye

Ramsgate is poor again, should never have been beaten from that distance. Not the first poor goal he has conceded lately.

    It's all City.

Jack Grealish beats a couple of men on the left way too easily to set them charging forward. He finds Kevin de Bruyne who then tries to thread in Erling Haaland, only for an Arsenal touch to halt the move.

Well that had been coming even after only a few minutes, Touch of class from Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City had made their intentions clear in the early stages by flying out at Arsenal and there are a lot of nerves in that Gunners rearguard.

Deafening atmosphere inside Etihad Stadium just got a whole lot louder.
