  1. Title race contextpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 26 April 2023

Man City v Arsenal (20:00 BST)

With only a month to go in the season - in which Arsenal play six times and Man City play eight in the league - both these teams know a win tonight gives them control of their destiny.

The Gunners, who were eight points clear at the start of the month, last won the title in 2003-04. City have finished top in four of the last five seasons. Guardiola's team are also in contention for a Treble, including the FA Cup and Champions League.

City come into the game in superb form, having won their last six games. Meanwhile, Arsenal have been faltering at the worst possible time - drawing their last three matches. In two of those they led 2-0 before throwing two points away, while in the latest they scored twice themselves late on to salvage a point against bottom-club Southampton.

Former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet believes Mauricio Pochettino would be a good choice to become the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

Ex-Spurs and Paris St-Germain boss Pochettino is in talks to take charge of the Blues.

Poyet told BBC Radio Scotland's Sacked in the Morning podcast: "I think, because the owner [Todd Boehly] is bringing in young players, he's looking for someone who can work with young players.

"Pochettino did it at Southampton and did incredibly well, and brought plenty of players on at Tottenham, so that's a good call.

"At Chelsea, always under Roman Abramovich, it was [about] today, there was no tomorrow. You needed to win yesterday. If you don't win, you're out.

"It's a new owner and it's different. Even with the change of manager when Graham Potter went there, I think the plan is different."

With Konate in the starting 11 I would have been fairly confident of 3 points tonight. With Matip starting who hasn’t had any quality game time recently I can see us getting a point possibly but not 3.

Nottingham Forest v Brighton (19:30 BST)

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has come out ahead of his team as normal.

He gets the applause of the fans in front of me and reciprocates.

They are still behind the man who returned them to the Premier League.

The big question is owner Evangelos Marinakis?

Forest have lost all three games since Marinakis released a statement which both expressed support for the manager and warned the team they must start winning.

Desperate for a Forest win tonight. We have no easy games left, and need 8 points or so. I'm running out of digits to cross.

I think West Ham have got a real chance.

We've seen a big turn from them in the last month. David Moyes will delighted with how they are playing.

We're seeing the team we expected at the start of the season, it has taken some time but they are finally getting there.

West Ham v Liverpool (19:45 BST)

A recent upturn in form means West Ham probably only need a couple more wins to be sure of Premier League survival.

Manager David Moyes, who turned 60 yesterday, would love to get one of those wins today.

But Liverpool are desperate for the points if they are to have any hope of sneaking into the top four. They probably need to win all their games to have a chance.

Jurgen Klopp's side currently occupy a Europa Conference League play-off place.

Nottingham Forest v Brighton (19:30 BST)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the City Ground

Brighton have no time to feel sorry for themselves after their FA Cup semi-final defeat.

Tonight's game is the first of nine they have left - and the first of four in hand of fifth-placed Aston Villa.

Brighton have never qualified for Europe before. Seventh would get them into the Europa Conference League.

That is the aim for Roberto de Zerbi's men now.

Brighton have to put the FA Cup semi-final disappointment behind them and "restart" as they look to reach Europe for the first time, says boss Roberto de Zerbi.

Before the penalty shootout defeat against Manchester United, Brighton had only lost once in their previous nine matches.

Tonight's trip to Forest is the Seagulls' first of nine remaining matches over the last five weeks of the season.

"It is the most important game in our season," says De Zerbi.

"We have to restart in our way, in our style. And winning tomorrow for us is a great result."

I’m feeling positive for Forest going into tonight’s game. We showed real signs of improvement against Liverpool and I think at our home ground with our home crowd we can do something. Come on You Reds!

    • Since he joined Everton in February 2022, no manager has lost more Premier League games than Frank Lampard's 23.
    • Brentford are winless in six Premier League games (D3, L3). It is their second-longest run without a victory in the competition.
    • Ivan Toney could become just the second player to score 20 goals in a top-flight campaign for Brentford after Dave McCulloch did so three times (26 in 1935-36, 31 in 1936-37, and 26 in 1937-38).

Man City v Arsenal (20:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to BT Sport: "We are calm. Nothing much to say. Go out there and do your best.

"The defensive structure is for everyone to try to help. We defend all together in high pressing and we defend deep all together. We try to have the ball as much as possible to try to score goals.

"Everyone has seen Arsenal this season. They are strong in all departments. In set pieces, transitions, ball possession, build up with four or with three and Zinchenko inside, the runs from Martinelli and Saka.

"We cannot deny how important it is. It is not decisive but it is a really important game."

Nottingham Forest's cause has not been helped by a hefty injury list - and they received another big blow this week.

Scotland centre-back Scott McKenna has been ruled out of their final six games after fracturing collarbone in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Liverpool.

The 26-year-old had only recently returned from a hamstring injury.

"It's a blow, and a real blow for him. He's a great professional who always gives his best in everything he does," said Forest head coach Steve Cooper.

"So for him to suffer the bad luck that he has with this injury is really unfortunate."

If Arsenal try and do something different to what they are used to then it could be a major problem. We saw what happened at the weekend when Tottenham went to a back four.

Arsenal are great to watch but they are lacking the know-how and that will probably come with time.

  19. Can Forest end dismal run?published at 18:57 British Summer Time 26 April 2023

Nottingham Forest v Brighton (19:30 BST)

As we're all aware, Forest have not been pulling up any trees lately.

When Steve Cooper's side beat Leeds United at the City Ground on 5 February, they moved up to 13th place and were six points clear of the bottom three.

    Forest have not won since.

That's a run stretching 11 games and they have lost their past four matches.

Can they end that dismal run against Brighton tonight?

    Chelsea v Brentford (19:45 BST)

Chelsea host their neighbours looking to end their worst winless run since 1993.

The Blues are winless in seven games, stretching across three managers - Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor and now Frank Lampard.

Europe might have gone for Brentford now but they will keep plugging away and see where they end up.

A Brentford win will surely leave Chelsea facing their first bottom-half finish since 1996.
