Nothing quite like heading home from less than a foot to make any striker happy.

Daryl Dike must have thought his luck was in when the ball came back off the bar and all he had to do was nod into an empty net to register his sixth goal of the season.

But just five minutes later he found out how cruel life can also be for any hopeful forward when he controlled the ball superbly with his back to goal and larruped a superb right-footed volley goalwards, only to see Latics keeper Ben Amos somehow save it.

On a so far cold and somewhat muted night at The Hawthorns, it was actually the miss not the goal that got the bigger roar of appreciation!

The Rams deserve it - their press has been excellent in frustrating Argyle, whose usual passing game has been next to non-existent.

If the scores stay as they are Derby will go fourth, while Plymouth's lead over third-placed Ipswich will be cut to just two points.
