Coventry really ought to have been ahead at half-time after Gustavo Hamer missed a golden chance, and now Swansea have wasted a big opportunity.

After Liam Walsh's volley was well saved by Ben Wilson, Harry Darling had the goal at his mercy but lifted the ball over the bar.

It has been a decent contest even though there has been no breakthrough yet.

That is something of a surprise given that this stadium has seen more goals - 58 - than any other Championship ground this season.

Now it's Preston's turn to have penalty appeals waved away by referee Geoff Eltringham.

Troy Parrott goes to ground following a tussle with Rangers centre-back Leon Balogun, but play continues.

Liam Gibbs has the sniff of an opening for Norwich as Gabriel Sara plays it long.

Unlike the chance that led to the opener in the first-half, this ball isn't as slick and Gibbs can't make anything of it.

If the Canaries can hold on, they will move to within a point of Blackburn in the play-off places.

Can QPR find any spark in the second half and get a rare win to move them away from danger?

The R's were top of the Championship on 22 October but just two wins in 23 games since then have seen the west Londoners slide all the way down the table to 19th place ahead of kick-off.

• Second-placed Sheffield United are heading eight points clear of the play-off places as things stand, with Iliman Ndiaye giving the Blades a 1-0 lead at home against Wigan.
• Norwich are set to move a point behind sixth-placed Blackburn, with Liam Gibbs' goal separating the sides at Ewood Park.
• Cardiff City raced into a 3-0 lead away at struggling Blackpool.
• Burnley will be promoted to the Premier League if they beat Middlesbrough tonight after Luton drew 0-0 in the early kick-off at Millwall.
• Rotherham created some breathing space to the bottom three by beating West Brom 3-1 at lunchtime.

The half-time whistles have pinged up and down the country.

Goals just before half-time can change a team talk but it's worse to be in a position like Blackpool when you're 3-0 down against a team that's also down there fighting to try to stay out of the relegation zone.

When you're in that position it's the teams in and around you that you need to concentrate on beating.

That's a cruel blow and they have a mountain to climb in the second half. To be 3-0 down at half-time is a hammer blow to Blackpool.

Norwich captain Grant Hanley is in some pain and his team-mates are quick to call on the medics.

After play is stopped for him to get some attention, Hanley is helped up and helped off the field to be replaced by Andrew Omobamidele.

It appears to be a concerning injury.

Hosts Sheffield United will be wondering how they are not well out of reach in this game already.

Iliman Ndiaye looked as if he had stroked home his second of the day after rounding the goalkeeper, but James McClean was there rushing back to clear off the line for Wigan.

Ipswich are making the race to promotion even more interesting.

George Hirst heads home at the near post from a corner to send them in front against Wycombe.

Portsmouth might be a goal up against MK Dons but could the Dons threaten that lead after Joe Morrell's sending off?

Meanwhile, Accrington's charge to safety is going well. Harvey Rodgers has doubled their lead against Port Vale.
