    Millwall 0-0 Luton

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu finds space on the Luton right and drags a ball back into the Lions box.

However, Allan Campbell can't bring it under his spell and the hosts clear.

Millwall work their way upfield and find Tom Bradshaw in the area.

The striker spins and sends the ball harmlessly high and wide from a narrow angle. I think it was an attempted cross rather than a shot.

Still waiting for the first effort on target.

Rotherham United v West Bromwich Albion (13:00 BST)

There is another early kick-off in the Championship, with both teams needing a win for contrasting reasons heading into their lunchtime fixture.

Rotherham sit 19th, just two points above the relegation places, and will be looking to create a little breathing space between themselves and the drop zone.

West Brom, meanwhile, need to kickstart a winning run if they want to force their way into play-off contention.

They start the day in ninth, five points outside the top six and with just one point from their last five matches on the road.

Ten minutes gone at The Den and it's largely been a midfield battle so far.

Both sides chasing every ball and refusing to give an inch.

    Millwall 0-0 Luton

Millwall's home record is identical to Luton's away record so far this season: played 19, won 10, drawn 5 and lost 4.

However, the Lions have lost two of their past three at The Den while the visitors are unbeaten in eight league games on the road.

That's the Hatters' best run at this level since November 1981, when they went 10 unbeaten away from home.

A sold-out stadium full of boisterous Millwall fans will present a different kind of challenge, but the visitors have settled fairly well after that early scare at the back.

What a chance for Millwall after just two minutes but Oliver Burke just couldn't control it. He ended up stopping the ball stone dead and it was more like a back pass to Ethan Horvath.

    Millwall 0-0 Luton

Almost a goal in the opening two minutes as Zian Flemming lifts the ball over the Luton defence and into the area.

Oliver Burke, turning 26 today, had ghosted in behind the back line but can't bring the ball under his control as Luton keeper Ethan Horvath gleefully picks up the loose ball.

Both these clubs are aiming to end long absences from the top flight and appear in the rebranded Premier League for the first time.

Millwall have spent 33 years outside of the top tier, while it's been 31 years for the Luton, who spent half a decade in non-league before re-emerging in 2014.

These two clubs only met for the first time this season on 28 February, when a late Luke Berry goal grabbed a 2-2 for the Hatters.

The sides were only separated in the table by goals scored that day but four wins in five have seen Luton carve out a 10-point buffer to the play-off-chasing pack.

Win this match and Rob Edwards' men will go up to third and will only be three points behind second-placed Sheffield United - although having played two games more than the Blades.

  9. Team news: Three changes for Lionspublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 7 April 2023

    MIllwall v Luton (12:30 BST)

Millwall make three changes from the 0-0 draw at West Brom, with centre-back Shaun Hutchinson returning to captain the side.

On-loan defender Charlie Cresswell misses out with a fracture to his eye socket, and could be absent for the rest of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Andreas Voglsammer and Oliver Burke replace George Honeyman and Duncan Watmore in the attacking trio behind striker Tom Bradshaw.

Luton name an unchanged side from their 2-0 win over local rivals Watford last Saturday.

Millwall XI: Long, McNamara, Hutchinson, Cooper, Wallace, Leonard, Saville, Burke, Flemming, Voglsammer, Bradshaw.

Substitutes: Bialkowski (GK), Malone, Mitchell Shackleton, Esse, Honeyman, Watmore.

Luton XI: Horvath, Osho, Lockyer, Bell, Drameh, Nakamba, Mpanzu, Doughty, Campbell, Morris, Adebayo.

Substitutes: Shea (GK), Bradley, Berry, Burke, Lansbury, Woodrow, Taylor.

First up on Good Friday is a clash between two teams who are in the thick of the play-off chase.

It's fifth against fourth as Millwall welcome Luton Town to The Den.

The Lions are six points behind the visitors in the Championship table, and will be aiming to consolidate their spot in the top six given that the south-east Londoners have a four-point cushion to seventh-placed Norwich ahead of kick-off.

Luton come into the game on better form, unbeaten in seven games, while Millwall are looking for their first win in three games.
