Arsenal have the lead and they just about deserve it too.

Sporting are patient in the Arsenal half but when the times comes to shoot, Manuel Ugarte puts his boot right through it to send the ball flying just wide via a deflection.

Granit Xhaka takes one for the team with a foul to halt a Sporting attack. It earns him a deserved yellow card.

It's getting easier for West Ham as Gustavo Ledes' yellow card, for catching the calf of Pablo Fornals, is upgraded to red and the visitors, three goals down, are now a man down.

Fornals actually argues Ledes' case, telling the referee a yellow was enough. But the decision has been made, via a check on a pitchside monitor, and Ledes is off.

Arsenal just opened up, no one went to the ball and Jeremiah St Juste is able to then just carry the ball.

As he gets to the edge of the box Gabriel then comes across and it is enough to put him off and St Juste fires over the bar.

Chance! It's Sporting's first for a while, but a reminder of the threat they pose.

Jeremiah St. Juste is lightning and charges forward through the middle of the pitch. It opens up and he goes for a shot but a last-ditch sliding tackle from an Arsenal player puts him off and he fires over.

The Arsenal press is functioning well too. More than once they have picked the pocket of a Sporting defender to set up an attack.

Arsenal looking for more likely to extend their lead here than see it wiped out.

Sporting are only having rare moments in the Gunners half.

So close to a second on the night and the fourth overall for West Ham.

Pablo Fornals, cutting on to his right foot, curls a shot at goal and a diving Kenan Piric is beaten but the ball bounces off the crossbar.

It falls for Ben Johnson who tries to convert the rebound with an acrobatic scissor kick but the ball heads in the direction of the corner flag.

Gabriel Martinelli does brilliantly down that left-hand side. He is all by himself and he has to stop it going out inititally and then he is able to twist and turn.

He plays a nice ball into Gabriel Jesus who takes a good first touch but his second lets him down.

There's definitely more goals on the table for West Ham tonight. Jarrod Bowen gets the ball on to his left foot but it is deflected wide, although the forward would've been flagged just offside.

AEK Larnaca are looking vulnerable though every time the Hammers step up the pace.

Gabriel Jesus' return is such a big boost for Arsenal.

He's a menace to this Sporting defence. Only a slightly heavy touch stops him getting in again after he is found by Gabriel Martinelli in the box.

The on-pitch decision stands and AEK Larnaca are denied a way back into the tie. Nemanja Nikolic just is offside before he put the ball past Alphonse Areola.

Gabriel Jesus has got three Sporting Lisbon players in front of him but he takes a good first touch. He manages to get his shot away through the legs of the defender but Adan gets down to make a good save,

Nemanja Nikolic puts the ball into the West Ham net, but is adjudged offside.

But was Aaron Cresswell playing him on? We go to VAR...

Almost brilliant from Gabriel Jesus!

He is found in the box by Granit Xhaka before beating a couple of men and poking a low shot that is saved by the diving Antonio Adan.

Doesn't look like he's been away one bit.
