Well, well, well… this has sprung into life all of a sudden.

Sean Welsh’s tackle was right in front of me, and incidentally Billy Dodds, who is still unhappy with the decision.

These tackles are seen in nearly every game, aren’t they? And routinely, a yellow card is shown…

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 59 mins

    Inverness CT 1-0 Partick Thistle

    Ridgers denies Graham once again.

It's not as eye-catching as his first one but Ridgers gets down well to stop Graham's shot right on the line. The ball in was slightly behind Graham which didn't give him the chance to strike it as cleanly as he'd have liked.

It's not a red card for me. Very rarely do you see them given. He's taken him out, no doubt about it but it's a yellow card all day long for me

  5. RED CARD Sean Welsh (Inverness CT)published at 57 mins

    Inverness CT 1-0 Partick Thistle

Well, just as Inverness showed some attacking impetus after their goal, their captain is shown a straight red card.

It's a cynical foul, absolutely, but the Inverness bench are incensed.

That is all about Jay Henderson, what skill and determination down the right.

He’s been simply sensational since joining on loan from St Mirren, some talent.

  7. goal

GOAL Inverness CT 1-0 Partick Thistlepublished at 50 mins

    Nathan Shaw

Jay Henderson robs Daren Brownlie of the ball and drives forward. He fires in a cross that runs in and along the edge of the six-yard box.

Shaw bursts in at the back post to meet it and nudge it over the line.

That goal is all about the cross from Henderson. Inspired.

    Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

Nathan Shaw whips it in towards Billy Mckay who leaps towards the ball but the referee whistles for a foul against the striker.

It was smart play from Shaw to get the ball into the box initially.

  9. Second half underwaypublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2023

    Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

A hard-working first half from both sides will likely lead to spaces opening up at the back as this half goes on.

Substitutes may well prove key as the night goes on...

  10. What do you reckon?published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2023

HT: Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

Thumbs up for the goals to flow in the second half

Thumbs down for a goalless second 45 to follow the first

  11. WATCH: Graham denied expertly by Ridgerspublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2023

HT: Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

The moment of the half as Brian Graham's effort is saved by Mark Ridgers.

  14. HALF-TIME Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistlepublished at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 24 March 2023

Besides Brian Graham's chance that forced Mark Ridgers into an impressive save it's been a bit drab so far.

Inverness started brightly and both sides have had a few half-chances here and there but neither had that vital spark in the final third.

A strong finish to the half from Partick.

Running out of time if they want to capitalise on it, though… no additional time coming.

  16. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

Scott Tiffoney wriggles his way into some room near the line and hits a powerful shot on the turn.

His near-post effort bounces off Mark Ridgers who took up a smart position to shut down the angle.

  17. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Inverness CT 0-0 Partick Thistle

The home side move up the pitch well and string passes together on the edge of the box but the runners aren't to be found as it eventually ends up at the feet of David Mitchell in the Partick goal.

A good move up until they needed that clinical pass.

If the referee's going to give out bookings as he did for two earlier challenges, that one there is as much a booking. If you were to keep booking these types of challenges though, you'd have no players left.
