  1. CLOSE!published at 21:17 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

Gavin Whyte races down the right, he has a cross that is straight at Hradecky, but the keeper spills it and Northern Ireland have a corner.

If it was a shot it was poor, if it was a cross it was poor but the hosts have a good chance!

  2. CLOSE!published at 21:17 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

    What a miss.

Morcus Forss forces a save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell. It's a good save but he can only push it into the danger area and Ivanov blasts over from six yards.

    That should have been two.

We have everyone up there, all Whyte has to do is shift the ball, get himself a yard and get the ball into the box.

Have Finland weathered our storm - they've got back into the game a little.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

Benjamin Kallman looks to catch Northern Ireland on the break but his shot is blocked by Craig Cathcart.

Finland come again and Dion Charles is booked for catching Nikolai Alho out wide. Now Finland have the free-kick in a good position.

  5. Postpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

The free-kick is too long by Thompson and it drifts the whole way over to Gavin Whyte, and the winger tries to break down the line but it is out for a goal kick.

You have to say that's a wasted chance.

Jordan Thompson is chopped down by Schuller in a dangerous position.

What can Northern Ireland do from here?

  7. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

Gavin Whyte, who has a history of being a super sub, comes on for the tiring Conor Washington.

Teemu Pukki and Anssi Suhonen are off for Finland.

Marcus Forss and Pyry Soiri are the men to come on.

Finland are trying to slow the pace of the game down as this is certainly Northern Ireland's best spell.

The pitch has bounced it up off him and it's hit his arm. But back to the chance, the full back falls and he tries to take on the shot too quickly.

  11. Postpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

It's one-way traffic and it's being played like there is five minutes to go, not 25!

    So, so frantic.

  12. Postpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

Charles, perhaps a bit peeved with the disallowed goal, lets fly from 20 yards but it nearly clears the stadium.

We've seen another angle of the VAR decision and it looks like it brushed his arm before he blasted home. It's close though.

The check is over and the fans aren't happy.

    It won't stand.

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

Dion Charles thinks he has scored but the referee immediately blows for handball.

    We go to VAR.

  15. CLOSE!published at 21:02 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

It's onto the roof of the net!

Paddy McNair whips in a low ball and the ball comes off Ivanov and lands on the roof of the net.

A striker on to replace an injured centre-half with still over 40 minutes to play? That's bold from Michael O'Neill, isn't it.

Josh Magennis scored a number of crucial goals for O'Neill in his first spell as manager - but he has just missed a great chance to grab another one.

He needs to put that out of his mind - and will no doubt be lifted by The Kop singing his name.

That substitution has meant a chance of shape to a 4-3-3, with Washington and Dion Charles playing either side of target man Magennis.

He just couldn't get his foot above the ball. Good play from Bradley to win the ball at the back post but it just bounced too high for Josh and he couldn't keep it down.

    It's been a bright start.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:56 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Finland

So close! Magennis fires over from inside the area!

It's great work by Magennis initially to win the ball, he feeds Jamal Lewis and his deep cross finds Conor Bradley.

The youngster heads the ball down to Magennis, who is leaning back and fires the ball into the Kop.

This is better - we're putting them under a bit of sustained pressure.
