BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

We said before kick-off about how Northern Ireland fans are still getting used to these late Sunday night international kick-offs.

Well, if the first 10 minutes are anything to go by, they are warming up to them rightly.

The noise has been loud, led as ever by The Kop.

Worth a word for the visiting Finns, too. They are very much making themselves heard in the corner between the North and East Stands.

  5. A familiar story?published at 19:58 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

The same thing happened on Thursday night, we can't get a decent ball into the strikers and that means we can't get the midfield up to support them.

  6. Postpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

Conor Washington does well to hold off his man.

It's worked to Conor Bradley and Paddy McNair out wide but Jensen deals with it and Northern Ireland win a throw, which comes to nothing.

  7. Postpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

Teemu Pukki is almost found in the area but it rolls into the arms of Peacock-Farrell.

Conor Bradley looks to charge down the right but there's nobody available for a pass and he has to go backwards.

That's a familiar story in the early stages.

  8. Postpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

Northern Ireland come forward after a Finland move forward but Dion Charles plays a sloppy pass and any chance of a counter breaks down.

The party is still going in the stands, trying to get behind their team.

  9. CLOSE!published at 19:52 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

Dion Charles slides in to win the ball on the line near the corner and finds Jordan Thompson in the area.

He pokes it into the six-yard box but Alho hooks the ball pretty much off the line!

  11. Postpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

Northern Ireland are struggling to keep the ball, which is spending a lot of time in the Belfast sky after a massive game of tennis from both teams.

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

The one big difference between the teams tonight is Pukki, we know he can score goals. It's vital that the lads at the back, led by Cathcart, keep him quiet.

  13. Postpublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

The Finns are knocking the ball about in the middle of the park but it's side to side, rather than anything meaningful forward.

  14. Postpublished at 19:47 British Summer Time 26 March 2023

    Northern Ireland 0-0 Finland

It's a poor delivery in by Paddy McNair and the visitors clear.

Jamal Lewis skips away from his man but a loose pass allows Finland to play the long ball, but the charging Teemu Pukki is well dealt with by Ciaron Brown.
