Ogbene has been exceptional, he really has. The shift he's putting in to try and help with cover against Mbappe, and then he's probably been our biggest threat in the forward areas. Trying to get in behind Hernandez, fighting with him and putting crosses in but it's some shift he's put in.

Benjamin Pavard only scores screamers.

Remember his goal against Argentina at the World Cup in 2018?

It wasn't quite as good as that but, my word, he hit it well.

You talk about playing out from the back and that's when it works properly They draw them in with a great ball down the line. It's excellent play from Ireland and you can see how it's lifted the crowd

Mbappe tries a fancy turn on the edge of the area but he forgets to bring the ball with him and Ogbene, who has been the best player in green by some distance, manages to bring it away.

Here goes Ogbene and he finds Jason Knight on the far side.

He takes a touch and it's brilliantly blocked by Ibrahima Konate!

The ball almost breaks for Evan Ferguson but Mike Maignan gets out ahead of the striker.

That's much better!

The Irish defence manage to scramble it clear. No harm done.

France have struggled to create for most of tonight, but that was a devastating demonstration of the quality they possess.

It was an awful pass from Josh Cullen, but Pavard read it, took a touch and slammed an unstoppable shot past Gavin Bazunu.

You can't gift teams like France goals and expect to get results.

It was Griezmann but it was deflected and over.

The French pressure is building.

No luck about the goal. What an absolutely sensational strike but Rabiot gives the ball away early on and it looked like we got away with it and then it just falls to Pavard. He absolutely smashed that. He gave Bazunu no chance.

Good response from Ireland, who win a corner straight away after Jason Knight's shot was blocked.

Cullen plays it in and it's a better delivery, but John Egan can't get in ahead of his man and France clear.

Josh Cullen tries to float one in but it is cleared by the French defence right on the edge of the area.

That's another missed chance to cause some problems.

Ogbene wins another free-kick off Hernandez outside the area. This is a good chance to get another ball into the area!

Jayson Molumby has been everywhere and he wins a free-kick off Mbappe deep in the Irish half.
