Ferguson shows good strength to win a free-kick off Ibrahima Konate on the halfway win.

We're into the final minute of the first half.

But again the corner doesn't come to anything as Nathan Collins is penalised for clambering over his man.

The noise levels are rising.

It actually hit Ogbene's elbow on the way out, but shhhh - we won't tell.

A corner is whipped in but it just won't fall for a green shirt.

It's launched forward and Ogbene somehow wins a corner when it looked like a lost cause.

It's the first time that Ireland have switched off and Pavard has gotten into a bit of space. He drifts the ball into the area, but it was a very difficult chance for Griezmann to take, the angle that he's at, it would have been some header to get that back across goal and beat Bazunu.

It's flicked on by John Egan and finds Dara O'Shea at the back post.

His shot is blocked and France clear by Kolo Muani, who is then penalised in the foot race with Molumby.

Brilliant by Ogbene. He wins another free-kick deep in the French half after being bundled over by Hernandez.

It's been a great battle, that.

Benjamin Pavard plays in brilliant ball and Griezmann tries to head it into the top corner, but he catches it too well and it hits the side netting. That's a bit of a let off.

Didier Deschamps doesn't look thrilled on the bench as another loose pass goes out of play on the left.

It's so far, so good with 36 minutes played.

Nathan Collins reads a loose France ball and the centre back charges forward.

He finds Ogbene, who is forced back, but it is worked forward towards Molumby and Upamecano has to lash it into the stands for a throw.

Theo Hernandez has a go from range and it takes a touch out of play.

That touch was off Griezmann and the hosts have a goal kick.

Stephen Kenny will be pleased with how his side have kept France's superstars somewhat quiet, but the hosts are struggling to make much of an impression in an attacking sense.

Set-pieces will be key for the Irish, so failing to get that last corner into the box will frustrate Kenny and his coaching staff.

It's been a game of few chances, but that hasn't impacted the atmosphere. It's been absolutely electric, with every Irish tackle and wayward French pass met by thunderous acclaim.

If Ireland can limit France to putting crosses into the box from wide areas, with the three centre-backs we have in there, you find ourselves quite comfortable in those situations. Even though it's Giroud in there, you'd think we'd still fancy ourselves.

I tell you what, you won't miss Antoine Griezmann tonight with his new pink hair cut.

You could see him from space.

He's still a class player regardless of his interesting decorative choices.
