A nice guard of honour from Mansfield for League Two Champions Leyton Orient ahead of kick-off tonight.

The Stags will be hoping the Os have been celebrating over the past few days and, depending on results elsewhere, know a home win tonight could take them within two points of the final automatic place with two games remaining.

The opening goals of the night have come at Newport where Omar Bogle broke the deadlock against Harrogate after three minutes, only for Sam Folarin to level two minutes later. A point is enough for Gate to ensure their survival, though they might not even need that, given their superior goal difference compared to Hartlepool.

  5. What's at stake at Ewood Park?published at 19:52 British Summer Time 25 April 2023

    Blackburn v Burnley (20:00 BST)

Two things are at play this evening.

This is Blackburn's game in hand on most of the teams around them and victory tonight will send them into fifth place and above former boss Tony Mowbray's Sunderland.

Rovers are without a win in their past seven games in all competitions, however, and have drawn four games in a row.

Burnley, on the other hand, come into the game off the back of their shock defeat by QPR - a loss which ended their unbeaten run at home this season.

But, victory this evening will gift them the Championship title. And what a place it would be to do it.

  6. Pilgrims aiming to progresspublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 25 April 2023

    Plymouth Argyle 0-0 Bristol Rovers

It's 19 years since Plymouth Argyle were last in this position in the third tier.

Back then in what was Division Two the Pilgrims won the title after 44 games - late goals from Mickey Evans and David Friio got them a 2-0 win over runners-up Queens Park Rangers at Home Park.

Tonight they host a Bristol Rovers side in game number 44 knowing a victory will leave them five points clear of third-placed Sheffield Wednesday with two matches to play.

They have already surpassed the 90 points they won in 2003-04 and the feeling amongst the faithful here is that the Pilgrims will be progressing up the EFL again.

Stevenage can give themselves a four-point cushion on fourth-placed Stockport and move a step closer to automatic promotion if they can beat Swindon this evening.

Mansfield welcome champions Leyton Orient knowing that if they can pull off a rare defeat of the visitors, they can storm their way into the top seven at the expense of Bradford.

Meanwhile, Harrogate can mathematically guarantee their safety with a point against Newport, although it's unlikely Hartlepool can stay up after their defeat by Crawley at the weekend.

Crewe's trip to Grimsby rounds out the four fourth-tier fixtures we've got to enjoy tonight.

    • Grimsby v Crewe
    • Mansfield v Leyton Orient
    • Newport v Harrogate Town
    • Swindon v Stevenage

Some cracking games in League One this evening as the season begins its climax.

At the top, three of the top four play their games in hand tonight, with only third-placed Sheffield Wednesday not taking part in this midweek round of fixtures.

Barnsley take on fellow automatic promotion chasers Ipswich Town with the Tykes knowing victory is the minimum they need to make a late break into the top two.

However, Ipswich can make a big push towards a return to the Championship should they snatch three points from Oakwell.

Also at the top, leaders Plymouth know they can put themselves on the brink of promotion themselves should they defeat Bristol Rovers, with the Gas traveling to Home Park off the back of two consecutive defeats.

Elsewhere, Bolton can boost their play-off hopes as they take on relegation-threatened Accrington, who could slip nearer to the drop this evening.

Likewise, struggling Oxford can move four points clear of the drop zone if they win at home to Cheltenham, while Lincoln and Burton play the only game of the evening with little riding on it.

    • Barnsley v Ipswich Town
    • Bolton v Accrington
    • Lincoln v Burton
    • Oxford v Cheltenham

    Blackburn v Burnley (20:00 BST)

It feels like only three days ago we had a Lancashire derby in the Championship.

What's that? It was only three days ago when Preston fought back to draw with Blackburn? Oh. Right.

The fun and games return to Ewood Park as Blackburn take on a Burnley side who could seal the Championship title on rival ground tonight.

There are also some massive games in League One and League Two at the top and bottom.
