    FT: Scotland 4-0 Costa Rica

That's all from me as Scotland continue their forward momentum with a sweeping victory over Costa Rica.

Coupled with Friday's Australia win, it's been an impressive few days for Pedro Martinez Losa's side. Some would say they needed it.

As Costa Rica head for World Cup Group C, where they face Spain on 21 July before games against Japan and Zambia, Scotland will wait patiently for the Nations League draw on 2 May. Competitive football will be a good test of where this team really are.

Have a great night and remember... This is Emma Watson's world. We're just living in it.

A crowd of 4583 to soak in that stellar Scotland showing. And get soaked while doing so.

There's certainly been bigger SWNT crowds in recent times, but fingers crossed a positive showing and a handful of goals can revise some of the feel good factor that perhaps slipped away with failure to qualify for the World Cup.

  4. Scotland were 'outstanding' says Losapublished at 21:50 British Summer Time 11 April 2023

    FT: Scotland 4-0 Costa Rica

Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa says that the next challenge for Scotland is to repeat the performances that have seen them pick up two wins from two this international break.

"I think the performance was outstanding," he tells BBC Alba. "I'm very pleased for the players. The level of effort, the performance they've put in on the pitch, scoring goals, and connecting with the fans - which is what we played for.

"Especially seeing how the players are performing independent of who is coming on, the environment we have created, we want to repeat this kind of performance. That's the next challenge.

"We have to build in the next camp. We are looking forward to the Nations League. We are a team that do a lot of thing very well. We want to repeat it more."

On Emma Watson's integration into the international fold: "Obviously, I've been very impressed. In training, she's been fantastic. When there is a player there, we provide the opportunity."

And here's her goal to watch again. And again. And again.

I hope Emma Watson gets a look back at it soon.

  6. Watson 'extremely proud' after Hampden debutpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 11 April 2023

    FT: Scotland 4-0 Costa Rica

Teenage sensation Emma Watson has been sharing her delight after her debut at the national stadium saw her grab a double in just her second international appearance.

She tells BBC Alba: "I loved every single minute of it. It was my first time playing at Hampden, it was just an amazing experience.

"It's straight off the training ground - just a touch, turn and hit. I practice that over and over, so I'm just really happy it came off tonight.

"I'm extremely proud, and my family's very proud too. It's all a bit surreal at the moment but I'm very proud."

Two World Cup bound nations dispatched, rather comfortably by Scotland, who we all know are not going in the summer.

The sting of disappointment from the Ireland defeat here back at the tail end of last year is still very much alive.

Ach, what could have been... how I'd of loved a trip down under, too.

There's been a few star-making performances at Hampden down the years. Tonight was Emma Watson's.

The 17-year-old's double on just her second international appearnace will grab all the headlines as Scotland breeze past Costa Rica, with goals from Claire Emslie and Caroline Weir to pad out the commanding win.

The latter shouldn't be forgotten either, with two assists also in the bank, as the Real Madrid midfielder skippered the side in style.

Two games, two wins this international break. A welcome boost for Pedro Martinez Losa and his previously stuttering Scotland.

Caroline Weir corners causing chaos. Nothing new this evening.

Daniela Solera spills her whipped ball and a melee follows, but the visitors put their bodies on the line to prevent the lead from extending further.

    A scare for Scotland.

Substitute Cristin Granados clips the top of the bar with an effort from 20 yards, which Lee Gibson is grateful to avoid.

There goes Priscila Chinchilla. She might be in familiar Scottish surroundings, but she wasn't able to have her usual dynamic impact on the game.

    Just over five to go.

And there we have a Costa Rica shot on target, but Lee Gibson is there to turn Catalina Estrada's effort round the post.

    Scotland looking a bit shaky.

It says a lot about the Scotland performance that I've only just remembered a player of Priscila Chinchilla's is on the park.

She's slipped in and has the chance to fire at goal, but a vital block from Emma Mukandi saves the day.

Emma Watson has another sight of goal as she'd fed the ball on the edge of the D, but her effort is too straight.

    All very comfy for Scotland.

Biggest chance of the game for Costa Rica so far.

They've barely threatened, so an overhead kick would have been quite the way to announce themselves in the game. Thankfully for Scotland, the audacious effort trundles wide.
