Emma Watson
What a moment for the 17-year-old.
Just her second cap, her first appearance at Hampden Park, and she's opened the scoring with the poke into the back of the net after Costa Rica failed to clear their lines.
She fair enjoyed that. And so she should.
Scotland 0-0 Costa Rica
Slack stuff from Scotland now as Costa Rica get the chance to stride forward through Melissa Herrera, but the hosts eventually get their house in order and Lee Gibson claims.
The offside flag was up anyway, but Scotland will need to be sharper than that.
Scotland 0-0 Costa Rica
What a start that would have been for Scotland.
Nicola Docherty loops in a cross, and Lauren Davidson so nearly gets her head to it, but Costa Rica manage to pinch the ball and breathe a sigh of relief.

National anthems done. We're almost ready to go at a wet and windy Hampden.
Can Scotland keep the momentum rolling?

The wind is whirling, the rain is thrashing down, but that doesn't stop the lights show... yas!
Usually at Hampden, Erin Cuthbert's name gets the biggest cheer, but of course, she is not here tonight after pulling out of the squad with injury.
So the recipient of the biggest cheer award tonight goes to Rangers midfielder Sam Kerr. She was voted the Scotland Women's player of the year for 2022 after making that third spot in the midfield her own with Cuthbert and Caroline Weir, usually.

It will be the first time Scotland's women have donned the 150th anniversary shirt that took social media - and shops - by storm. Thing of beauty, isn't it?
If you were disappointed to miss out on one, take comfort in the fact that just before the men beat Spain last month, a waiter dropped an entire garlic naan on my brand new purchase. Gutted.

I like the confidence.
But why no clean sheet?

Costa Rica technical assistant Edgar Rodriguez expressed surprise that "very strong" Scotland failed to reach the World Cup finals despite being ranked 23rd in the world.
"They have top-level players who play in the best leagues," he said. "A very fast team, they like to play a lot on the inside and they have a number nine player who is at Real Madrid."
Rodriguez said "the team is thirsty" to translate their hard work in training into results on the pitch and believes "it will arrive" despite their poor recent run as some of the results have been "unfair".
"There is always self-criticism, but I am amazed at the professionalism that exists here," he added.

Amelia Valverde started with a 4-4-2 formation in Thursday's 2-1 defeat by Poland, with Glasgow City winger Priscila Chinchilla and Bordeaux's Melissa Herrera up front, but their positions became more fluid as the game progressed.
Poland dominated the first half in Lodz as Costa Rica sat back and looked to counter-attack, but the visitors improved after the break as they went more on the offensive.
They fell behind with 20 minutes remaining, but when a Chinchilla volley from a Herrara cross was saved seven minutes later, Rodriguez followed up to celebrate her 100th cap with a 55th international goal.
However, the Poles scored again on the break five minutes from the final whistle and could have added to the tally as the visitors wilted.

Unlike Scotland, Costa Rica are heading to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but they are one of those sides who benefit from an easier passage to the finals.
Amelia Valverde's side qualified by winning all four games in an initial qualifying group involving minnows Saint Kitts and Nevis, Guatemala, Curacao and US Virgin Islands before beating Panama and Trinidad & Tobago to progress by finishing behind group winners Canada.
However, since then, they have won once in 13 outings and are without a victory in six, losing four of them, and are currently ranked 36th in the world - 13 places behind the Scots.

With Scotland ranked 23 in the world and Costa Rica 36th, how else can we compare the two sides?
The Scots' current three-game unbeaten run started with a 2-1 defeat of Philippines in February's Pinatar Cup - the same scoreline enjoyed by Costa Rica in a home friendly against the same opponents in October. But that was the Central Americans' only win in 13 outings.
Costa Rica followed that with a 4-0 defeat by Netherlands in Utrecht - two months after the Scots lost 2-1 to the Dutch in Zwolle.

Most of Amelia Valverde's Costa Rica squad are based in their homeland, with their most notable export being powerful midfielder Raquel Rodriguez, who helped Portland Thorns win the United States championship last season.
Priscila Chinchilla is well known to Scottish fans, the diminutive winger having spent just over two years with current Scottish Women's Premier League leaders Glasgow City.
Meanwhile, forward Melissa Herrera is with French top-flight outfit Bordeaux.
Rodriguez scored seven goals and Chinchilla four as they eased through World Cup qualifying, but since then, Costa Rica have found the net just six times in 13 outings, with those key players sharing four of them.

It's Scotland's first home game since losing October's World Cup play-off to Republic of Ireland, but head coach Pedro Martinez Losa believes that result was a blip in otherwise steady progress for his side.
The Spaniard took great heart from Friday's 1-0 win over 10th-ranked Australia - Scotland's first victory against a top-10 side since 2019.
"For example, in our high pressing, I think we are world class at the moment," he suggested yesterday. "We were congratulated by all Australian staff for how difficult we made it for them.
"There's good energy after getting a very good result against Australia. The girls are flying in training and the atmosphere is very good, so we are looking forward to a good performance at Hampden."

Amelia Valverde makes three changes to the visiting side after Thursday's 2-1 defeat in Poland.
Daniela Solera replaces Noelia Bermudez in goal, while Emilie Valenciano, who plays in Israel with Ramat HaSharon, comes into midfield along with Katherine Alvarado, who earns her 126th cap.
Defender Mariana Benavides and midfielder Cristin Granados are the others who drop to the bench.
Priscila Chincilla, the reigning PFA Scotland Player of the Year, will come up against her Glasgow City teammate Lauren Davdison.

Pedro Martinez Losa makes two changes from the side that battled past Australia in London on Friday afternoon.
Rangers defender Rachel McLauchlan relieves the covering Fiona Brown, who would make her 50th international appearance if she gets off the bench this evening.
Also dropping out is Martha Thomas, who spurned a few decent chances on Friday, replaced by Glasgow City's Lauren Davidson, who has been in fine goalscoring form for the league leaders.
Once again, 17-year-old Emma Watson starts, while it's Caroline Weir with the armband this evening.

And just like that, Hampden nights are back again.
