  1. Wrexham to turn to heavy artillery?published at 19:41 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

I was thinking at half-time, how is Phil Parkinson going to approach this?

A point is neither here nor there for Wrexham because they will still have to win next week whether they draw or lose tonight.

It's almost like a free hit tonight. If it's still 1-1 with 25 minutes to go, let's throw the heavy artillery on - all the forward players.

No dramatic start to the second half like we had in the first. A long throw from Wrexham's Ben Tozer is headed behind.

Is the National League promotion race going to the final day or can Wrexham end their 15 years of hurt tonight?

For anyone just joining us, Wrexham must WIN today to confirm promotion.

If they draw, or lose, then the title race with Notts County will go to the final day.

  5. 'Wrexham must counter-attack quickly'published at 19:28 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

A number of times this season I have sat here at half-time and it has been a frustrating half, then Wrexham have got the job done in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

The one moment of absolute quality led to Wrexham's goal.

The thing they have failed to do is counter-attack quickly enough.

At times they have had to be patient because Boreham Wood defend very well when they are in position, but Phil Parkinson will want to move the ball forward much more quickly on the turnover.

It's a slighlty subdued Racecourse because Boreham Wood struck the first blow.

Elliot Lee put Wrexham level. A point wouldn't be enough for Wrexham, but there's a long way to go.

We have seen that Wrexham are a big second-half side.

Paul: Wrexham need get this done today. If they don’t, then there will be nerves on the final day in a game they’d then need to win away from home. If they don’t win this and slip up the next one Notts County could still snatch it.

    Wrexham 1-1 Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood have achieved what Phil Parkinson said they would set out to achieve - they have properly killed the game.

Wrexham are certainly not having it all their own way, they are not dominating in terms of possession or territory at the moment.

The game has gone scrappy and that suits Boreham Wood.

The game has settled down a little now. There's not quite the furious action of the early stages.

We're going to have another stoppage after a clash of heads between Sam Dalby and Chris Bush.

Both sets of players are having a few instructions on the touchline.

It's actually Steve Parkin, Phil Parkinson's assistant, doing most of the talking.

Luke Garrard, the Boreham Wood boss, is busy too.

    Wrexham 1-1 Boreham Wood

Paul Mullin, Wrexham's big-money striker who could easily be playing two leagues higher, has his first proper sight on goal. He tests Boreham Wood goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore but it's a relatively easy save down to his right.

Another moment that sends Wrexham hearts into mouths comes as David Agbontohoma's cross is met by Femi Ilesanmi at the back post. He can't quite get enough on it to divert the ball on goal.

Boreham Wood's Zak Brunt sees the chance to put his name into the list of Disney baddies alongside Scar and Captain Hook by having a shot from 35 yards.

As tight as this Boreham Wood defence is, there are ways through it.

Wrexham's passing hasn't been good enough up until now.
