Harsh way to start this semi-final tie but we should be used to it by now.

Cool as you like from Billy Mckay, though. That's his 18th of the season.

I'll say it again, don't be fooled, there's some noise in this place.

Pyro out in both ends. Plenty to be said about the safety of it but you can't deny that it adds to the spectacle.

  9. 'We need to give it a go' - McGlynnpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Falkirk boss John McGlynn: "A big stage like this, players have an opportunity.

"We respect Inverness, but we feel we have a chance, and we need to give it a go.

"I think Inverness are in good form and are probably the favourites. We want to be the underdogs and rise to the challenge.

"The fans can play a big part. Nine thousand is a very, very good turnout."

  10. Dodds calls for 'calmness'published at 12:12 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Inverness CT manager Billy Dodds: "I want my team to keep a calmness. I don't want this game to bypass them.

"We're coming here in really good form but sometimes that doesn't get the job done, so we need to keep that focus.

"There something special about Hampden. Teams can freeze and that's what I'm wary of. If my team handle that, I think we'll do just fine."

  11. 'Healthy hostility'published at 12:11 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

None of this half-and-half scarf nonsense today.

A cracker of a boo from the Falkirk fans when the Inverness team lines were getting announced.

The Caley Thistle support responded with one of their own when the Falkirk XI was being read out.

    The way it should be...

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Inverness CT last reached this stage four years ago when John Robertson's side lost 3-0 to Hearts.

They have lost three of four semis in this competition, with their sole success a shock 3-2 win over Celtic prior to lifting the trophy in 2015.

Inverness CT are on a hot streak right now, surging into the Premiership play-off places after winning six in a row before last weekend's draw at home to Championship leaders Dundee.

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Falkirk will have a crack at returning to the Championship this season, with second place in League 1 wrapped up.

Form has been a bit shaky of late though, with just two wins from eight league matches since their quarter-final win over Ayr United.

  15. Postpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

It's been a while since these two last met.

They were Championship rivals in 2018-19 and the points were shared evenly over four meetings.

Caley Thistle finished third that season, while Falkirk were relegated.

  16. 'Much more than the warm-up act'published at 12:03 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

    Nick McPheat
    BBC Scotland at Hampden

This is very much perceived by most as the warm-up for a wee game that's happening in this place tomorrow, but you'll do well to match the storylines in this semi-final tie.

Inverness were knocked out of this competition by Queen's Park in January before getting a route back in after Queen's had fielded an ineligible player.

That player? Euan Henderson. Billy Dodds might well save a medal for him in June if his side get through.

On the other hand, you have League 1 Falkirk, who are aiming to become just the second third-tier team in Scottish Cup history to make the final.

In any other country this would be unfathomable. In Scotland, it's the standard madness we love to embrace every season. Send it on.

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

This unlikely semi-final is, of course, a repeat of a surprise final in 2015.

James Vincent was the hero for the Highlanders that day, scoring a late winner.

Falkirk had equalised on 80 minutes, not long after Caley Thistle had a man sent off.

    Neil McCann

I understand why it's at the national stadium. It's special.

When you take to the field, you're not too bothered about the atmosphere. You're playing the game, not the occasion.

I think we could be in for a semi-final that will produce a lot of goals.
