Should be around 14,000 here today - just shy of about a third of Hampden's capacity.

Don't let that fool you into thinking there will be no atmosphere, though. The Falkirk fans especially are making a bit of a racket already.

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Falkirk's route to the national stadium has been more conventional, although they have managed to avoid Premiership opposition.

It started with a 6-0 win away to Wick Academy, then they came from behind to beat Alloa Athletic before putting five past Darvel, who had famously dumped out Aberdeen.

The Bairns recovered from losing an early goal at home to Ayr United to seal a 2-1 quarter-final victory.

Caley Thistle made the most of that reprieve by going on to topple two top flight sides, Livingston and Kilmarnock, to reach Hampden.

In the third round, the Highlanders edged out Stirling Albion 3-2.

  4. Caley Thistle still standing after cup 'loss'published at 11:46 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Falkirk v Inverness CT (12:15)

Let's get this out of the way early.

Inverness Caley Thistle are in the last four of the Scottish Cup after losing a game.

That's right, they were beaten at home by Queen's Park in the fourth round but reinstated when it turned out their Championship rivals had fielded an ineligible player.

Has any team anywhere ever been knocked out, let back in and gone on to a major final? It's quite a storyline.
