  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Chelsea 5-0 Everton

Double change for Chelsea head of the second half. It's a good news/ bad news situation for Everton.

Good news? Guro Reiten is off. Bad news? Lauren James in on.

Alsu Abdullina is also on for Eve Perisset and we're back under way.

I think for Everton, it is very disappointing for them to go in 5-0 down at half-time. They need to pick themselves back up and play for pride now and not concede much more.

They should try and attack as much as they can to get some goals back.

Chelsea look well on top and they have firepower to bring of the bench with the likes of Lauren James.

It is almost a wake up call for Chelsea to get their act together and play well and that's exactly what they have done.

That injury to Sam Kerr means it has not been quite the perfect half for Emma Hayes' side - but it has not been far off.

The bad news for Everton is the goal difference we've mentioned. Manchester United's was 13 better than Chelsea's ahead of this match and, should the Blues drop points in the run-in, that could be all important.

As it is, they've reduced the gap to eight and look in the mood for more goals.

I did say that Chelsea needed to be more ruthless to catch up with the goal difference of Manchester United. They are certainly doing that now.

They just look like they want to score more now. Goals coming from all over the pitch.

What can you say about that? Everton started well but Chelsea flexed their muscles and before you know it, it's game over.

At times it has looked like they want to catch up the goal difference to Manchester United in one go!

Fantastic finish from Jessie Fleming. She has worked all over the pitch, she has been everywhere passing the ball to her team-mates and this time she took the shot on herself.

Chelsea really running the show now, 5-0. They look like they are just getting started even with Sam Kerr going off.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Chelsea 5-0 Everton

A remarkable half from Chelsea. They have been so clinical - five shots on target, five goals.

Everton don't know what has hit them.

With 45 minutes still to play, I think we can safely say Chelsea are moving up to second in the WSL. It is just a matter of how many they score.

Jessie Fleming is such an intelligent player in the manner she plays.

When she did join Chelsea, there were so many clubs after her, fresh out of university. She could have gone to clubs in America, lots of different WSL clubs. People see a lot of talent in her.

She has grown a lot under Emma Hayes and just a really tidy player on the ball.

It's FIVE! Chelsea have been absolutely ruthless!

The ball is played in to Pernille Harder down the right channel, she cuts it back and Jessie Fleming arrives late to finish.

Courtney Brosnan got a hand to it but can't keep it out.

Chelsea absolutely running the show now. It was cut back to Sophie Ingle first time.

A calm finish and Chelsea right now look in cruise control.

    Now Chelsea have their fourth!

Everton just can't get the ball clear after more good work from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.

It eventually comes out to the edge of the area and Sophie Ingle just passes it into the bottom corner. Calm as you like.

Sam Kerr is a huge player for club and country. She is the captain of the Matildas and she has spoken about how important that will be for her country. They look up to her in terms of what she brings and how she plays.

They are quite reliant on a player like her. For Chelsea she scores a lot of their goals.

She is obviously fatigued at the moment and that is when you have to be careful because that is often when they do get injured.

    Chelsea 3-0 Everton

    Samantha Miller
Ex-Tottenham and West Ham player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Everton are almost dwelling on the goals they have conceded.

The way they started the game until now is very different.

They seem to be lacking confidence whereas Chelsea have gained it since getting that first goal and adding a further two.

  17. Postpublished at 37 mins

Nice move down the right from Everton and Nicoline Sorensen flashes a useful ball across the box.

No one is there is meet it, though, and Chelsea can clear.

Outstanding goal from Harder. She has just come back from injury and is already hitting her form. She has just come on and scored a spectacular goal.

You can see what it means to her, the celebrations were epic.

  19. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 3-0 Evertonpublished at 34 mins

    Pernille Harder

Not a bad replacement at all! Pernille Harder scores with her first touch!

It's a lovely ball out to the left by Sophie Ingle to Guro Reiten.

Reiten plays a low ball into the box, it looks like Jessie Fleming is going to get to it but it runs to Harder and she thumps a left-footed shot in at the near post.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 32 mins

    Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Sam Kerr is able to walk off the pitch and doesn't seem in too much discomfort but Chelsea do make the change.

Kerr off and Pernille Harder is on. Not a bad replacement, is it?!
