  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Swansea 1-1 West Brom

As it stands West Brom will miss out on the playoffs and finish 8th, four points off the top six.

They need to win to at least have a shout of making the top six.

But Swansea are tough and although their season is over, they will want to end the season on a high.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Wigan 0-0 Rotherham

Wigan are going down. Rotherham are safe. Move on.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Millwall 3-1 Blackburn

A dream half for Millwall. Three goals and on course for three huge points and a place in the play-offs.

It's hard to imagine Blackburn having a bigger mountain to climb to salvage their own play-off hopes.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Luton 0-0 Hull City

Whatever happens today Luton will finish third and Hull City will finish mid-table.

Thus, somewhat unsurprisingly, this game is goalless at the break.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Coventry

Gustavo Hamer is the fulcrum for Coventry but he is down injured, holding his knee as he receives treatment.

Cov are by no means a one-man team but he's so important to their play.

Mark Robins might well have everything crossed. He resumes. Breathe easily, Sky Blues.

    Burnley 2-0 Cardiff

Burnley minority shareholders JJ Watt and Kealia WattImage source, PA Media

Ex-NFL star and new Burnley investor, JJ Watt - and USA international footballer Kealia Watt - look like they're having a fantastic day at Turf Moor.

JJ was seen enjoying a pint with supporters before the game and he is seeing the Clarets on their way to more than 100 points before they receive the Championship trophy at the end of the game.

Just to let you know, JJ, things are rarely as rosy as this being a football fan!

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

Beautiful approach play ends with Joe Gelhardt in on goal but his shot is smothered by Freddie Woodman in the home goal.

Would have been a lovely goal.

  8. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Millwall 3-1 Blackburn

It is a mountain to climb now for Blackburn.

Those rapid Millwall goals mean that Rovers must score THREE to have any chance of the play-offs.

  9. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Coventry

Middlesbrough are yet to post a shot on target, while Coventry have had just two of their own.

Fair to say it's not been too rip-roaring at the Riverside.

Coventry won't care, they lead through one of the true moments of quality in Gustavo Hamer's low rocket of a finish.

  10. Anything but an end-of-season affairpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Swansea 1-1 West Brom

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

This game is the opposite of a dreary end-of-season affair - even though West Brom are the only side with anything to play for.

Albion need a win to have any hope of reaching the play-offs, while Swansea's top-six hopes ended at Hull nine days ago.

But you would not know it, with Swansea giving as good as they have got in a high-energy contest.

The fans are playing their part too, with a bumper home crowd and sold-out away end making plenty of noise.

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

GREAT chance for the home side.

Manchester City loanee Liam Delap is in behind the away defence.

He does everything right up until the end, when he drags his low shot just past the post.

    Oliver Burke (39 mins)

Jubilant scenes if you're a Millwall fan!!

Less than two minutes after going ahead, then Oliver Burke may just have secured the Lions' play-off spot.

He is given the ball in space on the right and he isn't closed down and the Scot finds the far corner with his effort from the edge of the box.

    The Den is rocking!

  13. Postpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

    Swansea 1-1 West Brom

The Baggies look dangerous on the break, sending long balls up the field for hot wheels Brandon Thomas-Asante who is looking really fresh in this first half.

Swansea at the moment happy to hold on to the ball and pass it around to slow down play.

  14. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 8 May 2023

I said as it stands a Sunderland goal would send them into the play-offs and then 10 seconds later Millwall took the lead and so it won't now.

Literally can not keep up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Duncan Watmore (37 mins)

    Duncan Watmore does it again!

But my goodness, it's a horror show from a Blackburn point of view.

Millwall break from a Rovers corner, but Oli Burke's forward ball should be dealt with, but left-back Harry Pickering heads it beyond goalkeeper Aynsley Pears.

Watmore is alive to it and gets to the loose ball and scores from a tight angle.

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Coventry

Coventry's run of one defeat in 16 games is certainly the kind of run that would be useful going into the play-offs.

Boro have won 10 of their last 12 home games, but they're losing here. They have only won two of their last seven in total though.

The Sky Blues have three points as it stands, and I remind you, they need one for the top-six to be a definite.

    Teessiders are already there.

Diane Sharp: a very nervous Sunderland fan glued to your commentary on her honeymoon! New husband is back at the bar refilling my glass.

Paul Thompson: It’s a day where you don’t know where to look - phone, second screen, TV, between your fingers. It’s too nerve-wracking for this Blackburn fan!

As it stands, a Sunderland win today would send them into the play-offs and presumably send Diane's husband back to the bar a few more times...

    Swansea 1-1 West Brom

    And here come West Brom!

Jed Wallace sends a long stinger from his own end, down the middle of the pitch, for Brandon Thomas-Asante to run on to.

Thomas-Asante - running at full tilt - collects on the edge of the Swansea box and drills it under pressure, but the keeper Andy Fisher is equal to it and gets low enough to deny him.

End to end stuff right now.

    Ashley Barnes (31 mins)

Ashley Barnes has his farewell Burnley goal!

The Clarets get down the side again and when the ball is not cleared, it sits up for Barnes to lash it home.

Wearing the captain's armband, you can see how much that means to him to get that goal.

    Millwall 1-1 Blackburn

Blackburn have come right back into this and from a corner, Joe Rankin-Costello's shot is just about gathered by George Long in the Millwall goal.

A good response from Rovers after that early storm.
