An incredibly foggy night at Cove. I just got the thumbs up from referee Craig Napier to say the game is going ahead - but they will now be playing with yellow balls.

I have to say, from the back of the stand here at the Balmoral Stadium, I can't see the far side corner flags.

The teams are out at Ochilview. It's nearly time.

  3. 'Nervy night in store'published at 19:42 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

    Cove Rangers v Morton (19.45)

    BBC Scotland at Balmoral

Just a few weeks ago, Cove looked like they were heading in one direction - down.

But a run of just one defeat in their last four games has moved them off the bottom, with their fate now in their own hands.

The scene is set for a nervy night at the Balmoral Stadium.

  4. The fight for survivalpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Cove lifted themselves off the foot of the table last Friday, but still sit in the relegation play-off spot.

Paul Hartley's side are a point clear of Hamilton and two behind Arbroath in eighth. Arbroath and Accies meet at Gayfield. Again, more madness.

Dick Campbell's men took the title fight to the penultimate day last season, but now need a point to guarantee safety for another season.

If Cove win, Paul Hartley's side will avoid the drop automatically. That combined with a Hamilton win would guarantee safety altogether.

At best, Hamilton will be in the play-off, and to salvage that a win is a necessity, while they also need a favour from their former captain Dougie Imrie against Cove.

  5. Title rivals stumbling to finish linepublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Dundee go into this with the better of the head-to-head record, having beaten Queen's Park 3-0 twice at Dens Park this season and drawing 2-2 at Ochilview.

But Gary Bowyer's side are making hard work of their push towards the title after a run of four draws in their last five.

Queen's aren't any better, to be honest, with just one win in their last six. Nerves getting the better of both?

    Queen's Park v Dundee (19:45)

    Richard Foster
Former Rangers defender on BBC Sportscene

I don't think we'll see either team on the edge of their own box, but I think we'll see a cagey game.

    I'm hoping for a real end-to-end game.

  7. What about the play-off push?published at 19:33 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Given Dundee or Queen's Park will occupy one of the three play-off spots, the other two are up for grabs and four teams are in the hunt.

A point should be enough for third-placed Partick Thistle, who go to Raith Rovers, the only side with nothing to play for.

Ayr in fourth travel to the Highlands to face Scottish Cup finalists Inverness CT, who are a place below in fifth on goal difference. If there's a winner in that game they will be guaranteed a top-four spot.

That leaves Morton. Dougie Imrie's side still have a chance of sneaking into the play-offs, but need to win at Cove and hope for favours elsewhere.

  8. Dundee unchanged; Queen's make two switchespublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

    Queen's Park v Dundee (19:45)

Despite being held to a goalless draw at home to Cove last Friday, Dundee boss Gary Bowyer has named an unchanged side tonight.

As for Queen's Park, it's two switches to the side that started last Saturday's defeat at Morton.

In come Josh McPake and Dom Thomas, with Louis Longridge and Scott Williamson dropping out.

  11. Winner-takes-all title deciderpublished at 19:23 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

The big one tonight is at Ochilview, where our TV and radio crews will be in attendance to cover a title decider between Queen's Park and Dundee.

Leaders Dundee would be champions now if they managed to beat Cove at home last Friday. The game ended goalless, with Queen's losing to Morton the following day, meaning Dundee go into this two points clear.

So just a draw would be enough for Gary Bowyer's men, but victory for Owen Coyle's side would earn a third promotion in a row and a return to the top-tier of Scottish football for the first time since 1958.

  12. As it stands...published at 19:20 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Reckon the term 'as it stands' will getting used quite a bit tonight.

Also imagine this league table might look a bit different by the time we get to bed.

  14. Name a better league - I'll wait...published at 19:17 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Doubt many of you need to me to explain why tonight is going to be so daft, but let me try.

The Scottish Championship has 10 teams. Nine of them - yes, nine - don't know for certain which league they will be playing in next season. It's the last game of the campaign.

    Aye, mad.

  15. Brace yourselves...published at 19:14 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

Don't want to go over the top or that, but we might experience the maddest night of all our lives tonight.
