A brilliant Copa del Rey final, far more competitive than many anticipated but Real Madrid - as they so often do - come out on top.

Rodrygo scored both goals, he was the match-winner - although Dani Carvajal played his part with a crucial last-ditch saving tackle in injury time to preserve the lead.

Osasuna gave it their all, Lucas Torro scored a wonderful goal but they came up just short.

Slightly more enthusiasm from Benzema when he rejoins his team-mates on the pitch for a second trophy lift.

Queen's 'We Are The Champions' blares out and Carlo Ancelotti awkwardly shuffles away to let the players have their moment.

All very low key from Karim Benzema as he lifts the trophy. I guess he's won so many now that he doesn't feel the need to make a big thing of it!

It is despair for Osasuna but they were excellent tonight and get a hero's welcome from the fans as they go over to show their appreciation.

Nine years on from their last triumph, Real Madrid have won the Copa del Rey for a 20th time.

They will celebrate tonight but attention will soon turn to Tuesday and the small matter of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City...

Former Real Madrid striker Michael Owen on BT Sport: "Osasuna can hold their heads up high and second half I thought they were the better side.

"Real Madrid probably deserved to be at least a goal or two ahead at half-time but Osasuna came out fighting and gave them a real fright."

Real Madrid have done it! A truly magnificent final, Osasuna pushed them all the way but Carlo Ancelotti's team have won it.

Two goals from Rodrygo deliver a 20th Copa del Rey title for Los Blancos!

Osasuna looked certain to equalise as the ball was put across goal, Kike Barja looked to have a tap in but Carvajal stretches out a leg to take the ball off his toe.

Incredible defensive work and that might do it for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are showing all their experience now. Keeping the ball and making Osasuna chase them.

We've got five added minutes. Still time for Osasuna but they should really be out of it.

Vinicius Jnr is sent clean through but, for some reason, he tries to pass it to Karim Benzema.

The striker is someway back, though, and the pass is under-hit. Sergio Herrera is able to pounce on it and Osasuna live to fight another day.

Before the free-kick is taken, Real Madrid are sending on Marco Asensio.

Rodrygo is the man going off and receives a huge ovation from the Madrid fans. As it stands, his two goals are enough to win it.

Time is running out for Osasuna but they have a free-kick in Real Madrid's half.

With Kike Garcia on they have a proper target to aim for.
