Osasuna's journey to the final began with a 4-1 win at Fuentes in November before they saw off Arnedo in the second round.

They've needed extra time in every round from the last 32 onwards. They won 2-1 at Gimnastic before knocking out holders Real Betis on penalties - David Garcia having scored an injury-time equaliser to force extra time.

It was Osasuna's turn to suffer a stoppage-time equaliser in the quarters against Sevilla but they recovered to win 2-1 in the additional 30 minutes.

Athletic Bilbao were their opponents in the semi-finals and Abde Ezzalzouli's goal gave Osasuna a narrow advantage after the home leg.

Inaki Williams' strike sent the tie into extra time in Bilbao but, with penalties looming, Pablo Ibanez scored to send Jagoba Arrasate's side into the final.
