Live Reporting

All times stated are UK

  1. Goodbye!

Thanks for joining us, with a particular thanks if you stayed up through the night to follow this game. You've got enough time for a couple of hours' sleep before work.

You can relive all the action from Wellington in Neil Johnston's match report here, and we'll be back later today with the rest of the games.

    See you then.

  2. Today's schedule

A reminder that we are just starting another bumper day of action in Australia and New Zealand.

    Here are today's fixtures.

    Group E:

    FT: USA 1-1 Netherlands

    Portugal v Vietnam (08.30 BST)

    Group B:

Australia v Nigeria (11.00 BST) - Live to watch on the BBC in the UK

On that Group B match, if co-hosts Australia win, they progress to the round of 16.

  3. 'I'd like Greenwood and Daly to start'

England v Denmark (Friday, 09.30 BST)

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

Alex Greenwood perhaps should be centre back with Millie Bright, she plays the most progressive passes, and being left footed gives England more overall balance.

I'd love to see Rachel Daly start number nine, she deserves opportunity to show what she can do. If England can start finding early crosses and balls in behind for her, she can be a threat.

  4. Post update

    England

Anita Asante and Fern Whelan have turned to discussing England, who take on Denmark in Group D on Friday, 28 July at 09.30 BST.

That game will be live on BBC One and iPlayer.

  5. 'We are seeing a turning of the tide'

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

United States were wasteful again, same as against Vietnam. Often it felt like USA were rushing in the final third.

This is the next generation, it will take time, but it looks so exciting from [Sophia] Smith and [Trinity] Rodman.

The gap is closing. When I played, we talked about their physical dominance, that's how they had success. Now we are seeing a turning of the tide, and they are in transition, it will take time to mesh.

But when it does work, it is frightening.

  6. 'United States trying to find their identity'

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Fern Whelan

Former England and Brighton defender on BBC One

Alex Morgan said in her press conference that during the Vietnam game, it wasn't clicking. They're trying to find the identity of this US team.

  7. What next for USA and Netherlands?

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

The final round of games in Group E take place on 1 August, USA play Portugal while Netherlands face Vietnam.

You fancy both of the 2019 finallists to win those games. It could be a case of who wins by the wider margin and gets the better goal difference as to who finishes top of the group.

  8. 'Lavelle changed the game for the US'

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Fern Whelan

Former England and Brighton defender on BBC One

We said at half-time, can the Netherlands keep it up, with their possession and dominance.

Rose Lavelle came on for the United States and she's changed the game again, like she did against Vietnam. Netherlands couldn't keep up with it. The US had plenty of chances to try and win the game.

I'm amazed the Netherlands left Lindsey Horan unmarked in the box. She had plenty of space and scored a great header.

  9. Post update

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

It's part of the game, some dark arts. Danielle Van De Donk is brilliant at that.

  10. Post update

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

We've just seen replays of the build-up to Lindsey Horan's goal - she and Danielle Van De Donk were having a proper shoving match, Horan was furious.

She ultimately channelled that emotion in the right way for her country.

  11. 'Game of two halves'

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

It was a game of two halves. Netherlands established themselves in first half, they controlled the tempo in midfield.

In second half, USA tried to create down the flanks but were not clinical.

  12. State of play in Group E

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

So USA and Netherlands both have four points, with the Americans top of the group on goal difference.

Portugal and Vietnam meet later today. The winner will keep alive their chances of progression, the loser will be eliminated from the World Cup.

  13. Post update

    FT: United States 1-1 Netherlands

Danielle Van De Donk and Lindsey Horan hug and make up at full time. Good to see.

Great mutual respect between these sides.

  14. FULL-TIME

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

No! What a point for the Dutch.

And what a game. Entertaining from start to finish.

  15. Post update

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

Anywhere will do for the Dutch.

Is there one last chance for the US?

  16. Post update

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Back under way.

  17. Post update

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

Rose Lavelle is back on her feet, Danielle Van De Donk needs a bit more treatement.

She is being bandaged up with what looks like a black swimming cap on her head. Interesting choice by the Dutch physios.

  18. Post update

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

    Fara Williams

Former England midfielder on BBC One

Looks nasty this one. There's been quite a few collisions in this match. Let's hope Danielle Van De Donk is OK.

  19. Post update

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

We have a stoppage after Daniele Van De Donk and Rose Lavelle clash heads.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

    United States 1-1 Netherlands

Dutch scorer Jill Roord is replaced by Renate Jansen.

Interesting that the US have made no second half changes.
