Disappointing delivery, you would be expecting better.

Argentina did well to defend it because you know how dangerous Sweden are on the second phase too.

    Argentina 0-0 Sweden

Sweden have a free kick on the right but the ball into the box is poor and behind everyone.

    An opportunity wasted.

    South Africa 0-0 Italy

South Africa have taken the lead in both their group games so far but have failed to hold onto the win. So far in this game they've been very cautious and barely wandered beyond the halfway line.

  4. Postpublished at 08:07 British Summer Time 2 August 2023

    Argentina 0-0 Sweden

This is must win for Argentina and they've had the only effort of note so far in this game but it wasn't much to shout about as Mariana Larroquette scuffed a 35-yard effort well wide.

    South Africa 0-0 Italy

    Sue Smith
Former England international on BBC Two

Italy have played through the thirds quite well during the tournament, but they've lacked that end product.

    South Africa 0-0 Italy

South Africa have had a lot of defending to do in these early stages with Italy on the front foot.

Valentina Giacinti receives a pass with her back to goal inside the box but she's marshalled well and the ball is cleared.

    Argentina 0-0 Sweden

    Gilly Flaherty
Former England defender on BBC Red Button

Argentina might not get many chances, they might be few and far between so they have got to look after it.

    Argentina 0-0 Sweden

Sweden are backed by a decent amount of fans at the Waikato Stadium and they've made a good start to this game as an early cross is plucked out of the air by Vanina Correa.

Sweden are set to face the USA in the last 16

Before the Women's World Cup started, the prospect of facing world number one and defending champions USA in the knockouts would be a daunting one.

It still is, but their patchy form in the group stage shows their rivals that they are not quite at their best.

Sweden look certain to be facing the United States in the last 16 as they sit top of Group G, but who will be joining them? It is almost time for kick off in both games.

    Fern Whelan
Former England and Brighton defender on BBC Two

It is so exciting, the fact it has gone down to the wire. You can't really look at rankings anymore; Italy would have potentially been favourites to go through in this game, but South Africa have put in some great performances.

Given what is at stake, South Africa coach Desiree Ellis has likened this game to a final.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game," she said.

"They are going to have to protect what they have and we have to come for the three points.

"It is do or die, nothing less than victory. We have really worked hard on a lot in the last few days, how we can hurt them. We can’t share that plan but we have worked on something we feel can get us the results."

  16. 'Sweden to steamroll Argentina'published at 07:44 British Summer Time 2 August 2023

    Argentina v Sweden (08:00 BST)

Argentina need a win to have any chance of progressing, but that is just not happening.

Sweden are already though, and reminded everyone with their big win against Italy what powerhouses they are.

I can see them steamrollering over Argentina in the same way and winning 3-0.

  17. 'South Africa to edge through'published at 07:41 British Summer Time 2 August 2023

South Africa v Italy (08:00 BST)

South Africa need to win this one to finish second, otherwise Italy go through.

It is a huge moment for both teams, but especially Banyana Banyana, who are playing in only their second World Cup and have not made it out of the groups before.

If they can play like they did against Sweden, I can see South Africa doing it. That's why I am backing them to win 1-0, because I have seen how they can play, but they will have to change their habit of conceding late goals.

Having already secured qualification following two wins from two, Sweden ring the changes. Only two of the side that beat Italy 5-0 remain in the XI - defenders Amanda Ilestedt and Magdalena Eriksson.
