Spurs have a top 6 squad but Kane's ability and leadership must have covered for those who have not stepped up to take responsibility. If Kane leaves, Postecoglu could attempt to fix the rot and find a few people out who aren't committing to the cause as they should.

Manchester United are set to lose one of their best players in Ona Batlle as the star has passed her medical with Barcelona, according to RAC1.

Batlle was key to United's Women's FA Cup run - the club getting to their first major final - and finishing second in the Women's Super League. But the Spanish international looks set to be signing for the Women's Champions League holders.

  7. Catley signs new Arsenal dealpublished at 10:03 British Summer Time 6 June 2023

Australian international Steph Catley has signed a new deal with Arsenal but the club has not specified how long the new contract it is. The 29-year-old defender also signed an extension last summer.

“It feels amazing – this feels like home,” said Steph. “I’ve made some incredible friendships here and when the offer came around I knew exactly what I wanted to do and exactly where I wanted to be.

"I’ve never been happier playing football and I feel like this team is very special – we’re building something special and in the future we’re capable of achieving anything.”

Head Coach Jonas Eidevall said: “I’m delighted Steph has signed a new contract with us. Steph is one of the best defenders in the game and brings so much to this group both on and off the pitch.

"She’s a model professional and has delivered time and again when called upon throughout my time here, so we’re all pleased to say Steph will continue to be a part of Arsenal for years to come.”

As a Rangers fan, I can’t say I’m not relieved to see him go. If Spurs give him time, there is no doubt he will bring them success of sorts. Ange is a top top manager.

Comparing Ange to Gerrard is the perfect example of English football fans having such an ignorant view on Scottish football. Ange’s trophy cabinet is far greater, his tactical approach is a much better fit for the Premier League and the way he has transformed Celtic is far beyond anything Gerrard achieved. He’s levels above.

Breakfast has been eaten, the second coffee is being brewed and so now seems a good time to tell you what's coming up!

We will continue to see what you think of Ange Postecoglou at Spurs so keep those responses coming in. But we will also be looking at women's football transfers as well as focusing on Alexis Mac Allister's move to Liverpool and where Ilkay Gundogan could move to from Manchester City.

We may also be hearing from Manchester City's Pep Guardiola before their Champions League final on Saturday but that has not been confirmed quite yet.

As a Celtic fan, my biggest concern with Ange was his tactical inflexibility. He is a purist with a total football philosophy. "No plan B" was a common observation for Celtic's European performances. Seeing him match up against the likes of Pep and Klopp will be fascinating. He's either going to the very top of the game or back to a Celtic level club. There is no in-between with this guy.

  11. Bellingham was a dream not reality for Redspublished at 09:41 British Summer Time 6 June 2023

Liverpool have long been linked to high-class players, but no more so in recent times than England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Birmingham City in July 2020, was one of England's top performers at last year's World Cup.

So it's no surprise that he's been linked with a move to some of Europe's top sides this summer, including Liverpool.

However, due to Dortmund wanting 150m euros for the teenager, the Reds dropped out of the race to sign him because of the cost involved.

Speaking at the time Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the club's interest in Bellingham was like a "child wanting a Ferrari for Christmas".

So it was back to the drawing board for Liverpool, in their quest to bolster their midfield.

If Spurs give Ange backing in the transfer market and afford him time, he will undoubtedly be a success. He has the ability. If, as I expect, they demand a miracle too soon then I expect him under serious pressure after 6 months.

Wolves defender Conor Coady, who was in England's World Cup squad with Harry Kane, says he doesn't see how Tottenham could consider selling Kane as good business.

Coady told BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club: "I understand from his point of view [why he might want to go]. I don't know how Spurs would be happy letting Harry Kane go.

"For the club to say even with a year to go we'll see you, we'll find a way without you... what way is that?

"He's one of the best players in the world."

The headlines write themselves: "Ange takes Tottenham Down Under." As a Villa fan, it reminds me of the Gerrard gamble. Similar release fee, similar season of success in the SPL, no top league experience to speak of. I don't see this story having a happy ending for Spurs.

  17. A move is 'imperative for Kane's career'published at 09:07 British Summer Time 6 June 2023

    Harry KaneImage source, Getty Images

If Harry Kane stays at Tottenham this summer, he could leave at the end of 2023-24 on a free transfer.

"What would you rather do? Get £100m this season or let him go for free next year?" said ex-Manchester City defender Richards.

Kane has been continually linked to Manchester United, but 14-time European champions Real Madrid have just entered the mix.

Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema is leaving the club after 14 years and Kane tops their wanted list.

The fact Kane has not won a trophy is often used at a criticism of him, but if he leaves for Spain, it could end his chances of becoming the Premier League's top scorer.

He is on 213 Premier League goals, only behind Newcastle legend Alan Shearer's 260.

"Especially with Benzema leaving, it's there for you," said Richards. "You can go to the most historic club in football, there's a space for you, you have to go. It's imperative for his career.

"He wants to be the all-time top Premier League scorer. But if he went to Real and won the Champions League, it's incredible. To win La Liga, he goes to a different level."

  18. Spurs should 'cash in' on Kane - Richardspublished at 09:00 British Summer Time 6 June 2023

    Harry KaneImage source, Getty Images

Tottenham Hotspur should "cash in" on striker Harry Kane to give incoming boss Ange Postecoglou a chance to rebuild the squad, says Micah Richards.

His contract expires next season and he has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

"They're too reliant on him," said ex-England defender Richards.

Celtic boss Postecoglou has agreed to become the new Tottenham boss this summer, with the club's three-month search coming to an end after Antonio Conte's departure.

Asked what Postecoglou should do if Kane says he wants to leave, Richards told BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club: "He's got to let him go. He's got to get as much money as possible for him and allow Spurs to rebuild their team.

"They're too reliant on Kane. Every time you see who scored for them, it's Kane, Kane, Kane. They need something more.

"Sometimes it's frustrating to watch because he's so good at number 10 but you want him further forward at number nine to cause more trouble but he's having to do everything by himself at times.

"I think it's time now. I'm sure Spurs fans would say 'you've given everything for us, let's get some money for him, just cash in now and start again'.

"Give the new manager some money to work with and let Kane go and really show everyone how good he is in terms of going to that next level."
