  1. 'His work in the transfer market has been incredible'published at 19:53 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club

Last season they moved on [Gabriel] Jesus and [Raheem] Sterling. Sergio Aguero has gone, as have big players over the years like Yaya Toure and Leroy Sane.

[Pep] Guardiola's work in the transfer market has been incredible. [Manuel] Akanji and [Erling] Haaland were signed for not excessive money.

The most important thing for Man City is for Pep [Guardiola] to hang around and if he does then they have a better opportunity of achieving the legacy they are trying to create.

  2. 'Difficult to find any weaknesses'published at 19:51 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Shay Given
Former Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club

I'm trying to look for the weaknesses in this Man City squad and I'm finding it difficult to find many. I'm sure Pep will sign players in the summer but I don't go through the team and think they need more in any positions. Kalvin Phillips signed last year for £50m and has hardly kicked a ball this year.

If the likes of [Ilkay] Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez leave, then he will have to strengthen and bring in some big names we will have heard of before.

  5. These last few days have been one constant celebration - US Man City fanpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

We've been hearing from Manchester City fan Royce Barnett who is over in Iowa in the USA.

He tells the BBC he is "thrilled" at City clinching the Treble and picked out his stand out players from Saturday's final.

"Ederson was my man of the match on Saturday," he says.

Royce says he wasn't old enough to be able to watch Sergio Aguero's iconic goal in 2012, so he enjoyed Rodri's strike on Saturday all the more as he was "able to be in the moment".

"These last three days have been fantastic," he adds. "One constant celebration. It has been beautiful."

The fans are now walking behind the open-top buses on their way to the stage.

Or maybe it's just people who have been waiting to get into a shop for a can of cola for four hours.

  13. 'The biggest question hangs over recruitment'published at 19:35 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Shay Given
Former Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club

If Man City could get to the final next year, I would fancy them more than ever to win it but the biggest question hangs over recruitment because [Ilkay] Gundogan's contact is up and I'm sure [Riayd] Mahrez is not happy sitting on the bench.

Does Pep [Guardiola] stay another three or four seasons? He has not been that long at a club before. Does he try and go for back-to-back Champions Leagues or does he go off to the hills with the cigar he likes to smoke as it's the longest time he has spent at any club?

The longer City can keep hold of Pep, the better their chance of dominating Europe.

  15. Still more thundery showers on the way - but it will ease up!published at 19:30 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    BBC Weather

A reminder, the celebrations are running at a delay due to thunderstorms quite literally trying to rain on the victory parade.

BBC Weather's Louise Lear says it was really humid in Manchester earlier in the day, but then the widespread thunderstorms started to gather early in the evening.

"They've been lucky to get the parade underway when they did," Louise says.

"There are still more thundery showers on their way. It will start to ease. Gradually it is an improving picture."
