Wales, beaten 4-2 at home by Armenia a few days ago, thought they had fallen behind after only nine minutes of their away game in Turkey when centre-back Chris Mepham slid the ball into his own net.
But there was a let-off for the Welsh as Turkey right-back Zeki Celik, following a lengthy VAR review, was adjudged offside before his cross was turned in by Mepham.
