Liverpool currently look like a group of players who have never played football before never mind played together. Awful start. Long way to go though.

    Paul B

It has been proven several times now that Klopp cannot remain at one club for 7 years+. It's time to go! He can't handle a 2nd rebuild.

Re: Tim, 15:10. I hope you're joking! It's the BEGINNING of Game TWO! I'm not a Liverpool fan by any stretch but enough of this knee-jerk reaction. Oh but as a City fan...c'mon Bournemouth!!

    Liverpool 0-1 Bournemouth

OK, this is getting daft now. Liverpool have gone full Sunday League at the back.

Virgil van Dijk leaves the ball for Alisson and almost invites a Bournemouth forward in for a chance before the Reds keeper finally reacts the claim.

    Fulham 0-0 Brentford

Mathias Jensen lifts a very clever ball over the top to Bryan Mbeumo, but the Brentford forward can't make clear contact and it rolls to Bernd Leno in Fulham's goal.

    Lovely goal!

A sublime solo as Kaoru Mitoma cuts in from the left midway inside the Wolves half, surges through the defence and then places a shot out of Jose Sa's reach.

A deserved lead for the visitors.

Gee: It looks like Allison has been out partying last night. He's all over the shop.

    Wolves 0-0 Brighton

Here come Brighton again as Kaoru Mitoma works the ball to Danny Welbeck inside the box. The striker's shot deflects off Mario Lemina and back to Jose Sa.

England boss Gareth Southgate is here, but he is not being treated to a classic just yet.

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Both teams have set up 4-3-3 but Bournemouth are inviting balls into the Liverpool midfield and trying to press them.

    Fulham 0-0 Brentford

Fulham defender Kenny Tete defends well to stop Brentford winger Kevin Schade bursting onto a ball down the corner. Well Schade's first touch could have been better.

The latest Liverpool corner almost yields something but despite a clear run at the ball, Diogo Jota can't make clean contact with his header in the box.

Henri: The Trent Alexander-Arnold experiment needs to be terminated. Receiving the ball with your back to goal is a fundamental part of being a DM. It requires composure, strength and control. Trent, fine footballer though he is, hasn’t got that in his armoury.

    Close!

Liverpool drive at Bournemouth and Trent Alexander-Arnold nips in down the right to drive an angled effort that Neto tips over.

    Liverpool 0-1 Bournemouth

Another ball into the Liverpool box - this time from Dominic Solanke - is claimed by Alisson.

That early goal and the other defensive errors have really lit a fire under this contest.

This is a very Fulham v Brentford August game if you know what I mean. The hosts are putting together some nice passing moves but not really getting anywhere in particular.

    Wolves 0-0 Brighton

The home fans are getting a little restless at seeing their side pretty much doing all the defending. Any time Wolves get the ball they seem to quickly lose it again, so you can understand their frustrations.

    Liverpool 0-1 Bournemouth

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Hammered 9-0 last year, Bournemouth fans are in ecstasy as Antoine Semenyo fires the visitors into a shock lead, followed by a superb somersault.

And Liverpool have only themselves to blame, Trent Alexander-Arnold losing possession 25 yards out.

It was the Reds' second error in a minute after a mix-up saw a Liverpool defender knock the ball past Alisson with Jaidon Anthony tapping into an empty net, before the assistant's flag spoiled his fun.

No-one was expecting this and the goal has cranked up the already fantastic atmosphere. Virgil van Dijk then hits the crossbar with a header from Andy Robertson's left-wing corner.

We had nine goals in this one last year, I'd be amazed if it is just the one today. What a start.

Ryan Christie whips in the Bournemouth free-kick but Alisson plucks the ball out of the air.
