With Kane no longer at Spurs, City have the two best strikers in the league. Simply unstoppable.

You wouldn’t know Newcastle have had a week off and City played on Wednesday. Newcastle have been poor especially £40m Anthony Gordon. Barnes to come on ASAP.

We've choked here massively. Had a game plan and looked organised until that Alvarez stunner and now we look scared and outmuscled going forwards. Finished fourth last season but still a way off the big boys yet.

Gooner Thoughts: Foden is picking up some lovely spaces drifting in from the right hand side and using his trademark half-turn. Surely there must be a way to get Foden & Saka in the same side for England - both supreme players. The inter-play and movement could be unplayable.

Almost a big chance for Newcastle but Anthony Gordon can't properly control a cross from the right. He was only about six yards out.

Erling Haaland's first proper chance of the night. More lovely build-up play by Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden, who are both playing really well. Foden finds Haaland, who drags a shot just wide from about 14 yards.
